The article is a bunch of garbage. Yes, there may be a few valid points, such as the bit with frogloks and EQ2, but I think this is someone with an axe to grind.
First, remember this is an opinion piece, not a researched article. Also, this opinion piece is wrtten by a self proclaimed 16 y/o. Ummm, you have to be 18 to be a guide....
Next, the "guide" in question refers to being removed as a guide for violating several policies, such as going places he wasn't suppsoed to and the like. Makes him very untrustworthy IMO.
Next, there is this line from the article:
Quote:
This type of business ethic continues at SOE because of their CEO, John Smedley. Little does the public know, that Star Wars Galaxies was scrapped in 2002 and redeveloped in 14 months from the ground up. In a meeting, they asked how they could get away with releasing such an unfinished product. John Smedley stated that people will buy it because it has a Star Wars name on it - and then laughed as they said they would complete the retail product (which consumers have already paid $49.99 for) with approximately 2 years of subscription revenue.
How would a guide have access to a high level coperate meeting? Especially a guide that is 16 y/o?
In a nutshell, if you believe this "article" as a whole, I have a great deal on some beachfront property in Florida to sell you.
