* The User Interface is the make-up of windows in-game.
* The "Old Default UI" has vertical hotkeys (five rows of two)
* The "New UI" has horizontal hotkeys (one row of 10)

I use the new default UI (horizontal hotkeys):353 (26.9%)
I use a custom UI made by someone else:369 (28.1%)
I use my own custom UI:119 (9.1%)
What?:19 (1.4%)

I'm a very happy Quartz user. I've had to modify a few of the screens that haven't been updated in a while, but for most of the things that I use it for, it works very well.

Mine was "What?" for the longest time I thought they meant they weren't using a UI anymore and we'd all be responsible to update it.. then I got an understanding of it all from reading this poll... they were referencing an older verison.. oh... I still miss the old old version with the screen surrounded by the UI.. it was much brighter though I suppose..

Three computers. I use both horizontal and vertical, depending on character. I use all old spell icons, tho, and a custom target window that incorporates a HoTT window, and a spell casting window for a 3 in 1.

I have a mixture of old and new, but my hot keys are vertical, wouldn't even consider the new spell icons after all this time using old.

I use Lodidodi, AYA, depending on whatever toon I'm playing at the time, I've used TKing's as well and a few other's I've found at eqgui.com

I like the functionality of them, the way I can get to inventory without having to open a huge window in the middle of the screen, if I need to click a mod rod or something I can do it fast and easy.

I use the new default, with Kizzestra's ultimate player window mod.

You know with the new UI hotbars 1 and 2 are horizontal, and 3 and 4 are vertical?

I use the new default. It didn't take long to get used to it and I don't have to worry about keeping it updated or anything.

i use new default, but i turn off hotbars one and two and use three and four because they are vertical...horizontal hotbars blow goats!

I use the old UI; the new spell icons are too small and not distinctive enough to see what they are at a glance. Also, things like the text in the spell book being in white make it very difficult to read. I won't be very happy when they make me stop using the old UI.

The question is kind of slanted as the new UI has both vertical and horizontal keys, 2 rows of each in fact if you open them all up. Much more streamlined than the old default UI, especially at higher resolutions.

I use the new UI on most toons, but my fav is a ranger themed UI that incorporates HoTT, Leadership point progression, full clickies and the like.

I use the new UI, but just copied it into another directory and use the old icons with it.

I'm using a custom UI from EQInterface because it looks so much nicier than the new PoS that Sony forced on us. I would have prefered the old default UI but it wasn't going to be updated anymore and I don't have the expertise to hack and recode the old one to bring it up to date.

Here's a hopefully helpful hint. Make a new directory, copy JUST the old icons into it. Use that as your UI. Anything EQ can't find in your UI folder it goes to the default for. This way when the default changes you don't have to do anything.

:)

I use the default on all my chars. Just makes it so easy.

I took the new default, cut all the scollwork out and cleaned up some of the border graphics to make a minimalist skin.
