I hate the new spell icons. It is difficult to see what the pictures are, they are small and they are mostly monochrome. I never got it to work with the new ui and old spell icons.

I personally prefer the AYA UI though I have modded it slightly to suit my needs. I have used one of the Delta UI's in the past even TKing UI at one time.

Aya can be found here at EQ Interface Website URL = http://www.eqinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=1881

I use the WoW Spell Gems URL = http://www.eqinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=3931 with the AYA Nanase Design 3D Target Ring Package URL = http://www.eqinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=3381 to give it the feel I am looking for :)

has anyone found a way to change the colour of the AA progress line in the inventory window? the darkblue progress line is well nigh impossible to see when it gets out f the orange into the black.

Humm!

I use the 'Old UI' with the new cursors.

The new cursors were the only thing that was an improvement.

The main thing I detest about the new one is it's totally unreadable icons. Smiley: banghead

I don't need glasses in real life. But the lack of contrast and small size. They are just impossible to see on my 17in monitor.

While all the other UI improvements up to the latest were a major step forward. The latest is a full march backwards

I have reluctantly gone to using the new UI. I am now thinking of trying a custom UI for the first time - having to use reading glasses to see the icons and such is just not reasonable!

I welcome suggestions for good UI's for a paladin main.

Have Fun!

I personally use the AYA UI, with a different targetting ring. AYA is busy as it provides all sorts of info, but as a paladin, my role can vary so much that having all this info is helpful.

I use the Celtic Ring for my target ring as it stands out real well.

I Absolutly Hate the New Spell Gems and Spell Gem Icons, the Horizantal Hot Bars are also Quite Annoying.

i suppose other than that, it isn't that bad of a UI , but that blue color hurts my eyes after awhile

I like the look of the boxes and the guild tool in the new UI so i took the new UI and copied the old spell icons, old hot key box, and some newer 3rd party raid tool and expodition windows. Has a nice new look with the old functionality i like and the improved guild, raid and expo tools, makes for a nice setup thats easy to do.

I used to use Lil but it has not been updated for a long time and I dont have the time to sit and mess with learning how to program it right now... so I went back to the old default... I was diapointed they messed up all the spell icons with this new UI.

I did exactly the same thing. It's ridiculous that they changed the spell icons to such freaky graphics. "If it's not broke, don't fix it" comes to my mind......
I notice that the highest percentage responded to the old UI(34% so far). I think this is a good indication that SOE shouldn't have changed it......oh well. It's not like SOE is going to listen to people, not that they ever have in the past LOL

I use the Old UI. I hate the new one. SOE is always making changes that are trival. They need to listen to the players, and what we want. Without us, there is no game.

I ahate the new Icons. Don't forget there are some older folks playing that can't see all the busy work around the icons. PLEASE give us back our old Icon or at least give us a choice of which one we prefer.

I use Keiz (somewhat modified and updated) plus the old UI. I absolutely love the Keiz Buff and Short Duration Buff windows. Small Icons with names, no border. Keiz hasn't been updated in a while, so I had to add the additional slots beyond 15.

It also has an integrated player and group window with percetages for the XP and AAXP. I used this UI since about lev 5 on my main char. For a good amt of time, I had no idea what ppl meant when they said "1/2 blue per kill". What the hell is a blue? I get 2% :)

I think I could get used to (and probably like) the new UI - it is rather pretty - however I can't abide the spell icons - not being able to instantly "know" what spells you have memmed is a pain in the butt. The spellbook is a joke for a druid who has like, 40(?) pages of spells. White letters? Who's brainchild was that?

Can someone post instructions for copying old spell icons into new UI - do you just delete the icons that are already in there? then copy/paste the old icons into the folder? I am not one to tinker with software files . . . lol and just how hard is it to download and use a new UI? Please help the blind. . . and the ignorant.

I am using the new UI largely because I have neither the skills nor the time to go with anything other than a default.

I like having a choice of vertical vs horizontal hotkey bars, and currently use one of each. (Unfortunately, I havent figured out how to use keyboard to trigger a single hotkey when there are more than one up at a time.)

Must admit tho...the new icons are tough on my old eyes. I am making mistakes. They are not distinctive enough. In my opionion , that is the major design flaw of the new UI.

I use the new UI because I dont want to mess around with it when it gets updated. I use the vertical hotbars though. I find it annoying that I have to keep hotbar 1 and 4 (vertical one I use) the same so that I can activate them using keyboard numbers 1 - 0. I also have to open and close hotbar 1 every time I log in if I have a clicky item (like JBoots) hot keyed before it will work. Does anyone know a way around doing that for vertical hotbars?

I do use horizontal hotbar 2 for MMs and place it at the top of the screen. That way I dont have to mess up any of my usual hotbars with MM abilities.

I didnt really mind the fact that they changed the spell icons though I dont think it was needed. They are very small and its a whole new set to learn... again.
