Flowing thought, clarity, bard mana song, rod of mystical transvergence, etc.

There's lost of ways to get mana back faster. Even better option is to get some mana preservation item(s). Best way is to learn to conserve/ration out your mana.

careful with the above at lvl 11. One was given to a guildie (new to EQ and only 8) who had the same problem. Giver did not think though that rod takes 400+ of your HP to convert to mana and that at lvl 8 our cleric had only 200HP.

Do this quest for a mana pres ring.

It's easily doable at your level as you can buy all the stuff around pok and in the bazaar. Though the hide you need may cost you around 50pp (from bazaar) - watch for deals.

You can also buy clarity potions at the potions merchants by the fishing hole in PoK for just a plat or two for you level. These will help mana regen tremendously until you get Canni.

If your maximum hp is < 400, you can't kill yourself with this. Don't confuse maximum with current though. If you currently have under 400 hp but your normal hp is over 400, you will die when you click it.

Couple suggestions:

1. Choose some easier targets.
2. Melee more.
3. Find group members and manage your mana.

At level 11 with a new shaman toon, I could solo using mostly melee and only cast a spell or two during the fight and a heal or two during the downtime.

First get at 11 do not worry about Wis, concentrate on how much mana an item has. Forumla for mana is Int or Wis/5+5*level, if memory serves me right. So at 11 with 255 Wis would give you 616 mana. You can do alot better with mana items at lower levels. You can also start using the tribute system to increase mana regen, this counts as worn FT. Untill you get your first pet not sure of level anymore and too lazy to look it up you will have mana shortage issues. Slow the mob if you can land a dot or 2 and melee. Also work on your meditation at level 11 Med should be at 60 level * 5+5.

Life as a shaman will improve once you have root. You will be able to dot and root and sit to med.
At 11 you will also be able to tank a solo mob that has been slowed. Even without slowing it is not that hard.
I was using cougar claw earring, but just Sat eve I went hunting for the last item I needed for the antique ring.
When I hit 40 I will switch to the rotting murkglider drape.
In the meantime, get acrylia cloak, artic wyvern stuff can usually be found at the tailoring merchants in pok.
I also use the clarity potions, and tribute for clarity as well.
