Raiding guilds are currently the driving forxe keepong eq going. Many casual playes have found a better gaming experience in other games

You dont need to raid every day to be a big guild. I love raiding and seeing new content that most casual players wont see. We raid 3 days a week in my current guild and are high end GoD aswell as killing the king in RS and PG trails.

As draco said the Raiding Guilds are the driving force atm as there are a lot of guilds that are high end with a lot of peeps that own more than one account.

Play the game as you wish to play it. You want to raid every day join a guild that raids everyday... want to raid a couple of days a weeks find a guild that raids a couple of times a week... want to not raid... find a guild that dont raid.

there are raiding guilds that require minimal attendance. one alliance on my server comes to mind.. requiring one raid, essentially a 2-4 hour committment every two weeks. they're about to break in to anguish, and have cleared tacvi minus tunat.

also, people don't want to join your guild because you use too many question marks, which is annoying as hell.

LOL I love this! I can't believe there is a fill in the blank flame post. May I use it sometime if deemed necessary? I try not to flame peeps but sometimes you just can help it. Great post =) (going to grab my toaster now...)

Just make those spaces between the brackets into underscores, and there you go!

..a morbid curiousity and a sense of decency are clashing right now, in some battle over whether or not to go to see what goatse.ex is.

That is hilarious Groogle. I have never seen that before.

To the OP...

Well, if you don't want to raid, then don't raid. Play the game as you want to play it. Don't come here saying that other people suck since they don't have the same feeling as you.

Also, if you want to make a good point/arguement, puncutation and grammar go a long way to helping your arguement. Most of us will forgive typos and mis-spelling, but incoherent sentences actually make us laugh.

On Bertox, i am in i think the largest guild(by numbers of toons in guild) on the server. We only raid 3 or 4 times a week, and it is not mandatory. We just have a good group of people that help each other out.

Big does not necessarily mean mandatory raiding.

Ahh it's been awhile since I've seen that :).

In reality though, the very biggest guilds....don't raid much. They are the large oversized social guilds.

<Descending Essence> on Luclin, close to 900 tagged toons (at least 200-300+ different people) is one of the largest guilds serverwide. They are a social guild.

You sir are confusing "Big" with "Raiding" in your stereotyping of high end guilds.

Now, some people DO have time to raid 6hrs a day. Your friend obviously didn't. To each their own. No sense bashing people who enjoy that atmosphere.

Not that I care for feeding trolls much, but oh well, f-it.

I think for those that cross the line from casual to raiding it can be overwhelming. Typically you will have a lot of catching up to do. Flags, gear etc. The only way to get those are putting in the hours. I know when I went from one side to the other I had that same reality check.

Now I really don't have anything else to do in the game but raid. Many people playing EQ are always pushing the end of the expansions in the bigger guilds. If your only logging on to raid you probably are spending less time in the game then those logging on to play normally.

As already stated most of the really large guilds are so big that once your established, caught up and comfortable you don't have to raid as much. They have more than they need to have a raid on any given day/night.

The Knights of the Coffee Table (Povar) has over 400 members. I guess that makes them a big guild.

1. NO raiding required.

2. Always enough people for a experience group

3. Free buffs from generous high levels who offer to buff.

4. no Casino

5. assistance with Epics

6. lots of advice on quests and tradeskills

7. nice, fun interaction with other people that generaly keep it rated "G" for general audiences.
