Looks cool, but too much wasted space, too much lag, too many zones.
#5 Feb 24 2006 at 5:54 PM Rating: Decent
The New Freeport looks Awesome!

As far as Lag goes....I havent had lag issues in any of the zones except for Arcstone but I think that was due to the large number or players in zone at the time, since I havent had it again.

I gave it an eh. It is nice overall but the town seemed to evolve from small quiet town to huge castle-like city with busy port. Also if you looked at Freeport from Nro the wall looks like they are a copy of the great wall of China.

I was never really fond of old freeport, so I imagine going in with low expectations left me with a good impression... there is an almost indefinable aura about the town, it actually feels like a city, almost like it was based on something else (some several-hundred year old city with warping guards and zombies running around in their sewers, to boot)

All in all it feels like a pretty decent job, everything about the expansion is pretty high quality in aesthetics. just hope they leave my neriak the hell alone :/

If the find tool just worked it would be fabulous. Looks like a real city.

BRING BACK BOOMBA!
Freeport Needs Pickles

(At least, I couldn't find him... maybe he was just out hunting more gnomes?)

I liked the Look of the city, but it is a lot of wasted space....I seriously wish the find feature worked...would make it a lot easier getting around.

To the person above looking for Boomba. Boomba is near the Bard Theatre/Guild selling his pickled goodies to the people coming to watch the wonderful concerts :). In East Freeport. He is in the back tho...I think they thought Ogre odor might drive away paying ticket holders heh.

i gave it a 3. i love the scenery, it's really cool. i really hate the guard patrol because all of my characters are kos there for one reason or another, such as a high keep slaughter or downing Lucan.

3... Why does the map have to look like a freaking rainbow with all the different colors in it? =p Also, dont like the guard patrols roaming around (em see thru invis methinks, and being ogre I aint that welcome in there >_<), and it's much harder to navigate imho.

Aye, go to East Freeport and use the find menu. He is in there in the SE corner of the city.

Is it really the same as EQ2 Freeport?
#18 Feb 25 2006 at 11:38 AM Rating: Default
it is pretty similar to the EQ2 freeport I gave it a 1 I dont really like it and very mad that they moved boomba out of west feeport.
#19 Feb 25 2006 at 11:59 AM Rating: Decent
I gave it a 3, it's not that bad. I like the new look, eventhough I don't like all the walls all over the place, and the small doors to get around. Eventhough I'm a human, w/ soe on I have to keep looking down to get through the doors. :/

I gave it a 2. The graphics are technically good, but I want to take a feather duster to the entire city. If that doesn't work, then I'd take a scrub brush and bleach to the entire place.

The new Freeport has the look that I didn't like about the EQ2 Freeport. It's dirty and tiring to look at for extended periods. Fortunately, it's more of a hub than a content zone. I shouldn't have to spend any more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time in it at the most.

On a side note, the new Ro zones look fantastic.

Graphics are very nice and it is taking on a more 'evil' look.
It is starting to look a lot more like EQ2 - just please SOE my Vah Shir alt begs you not to blow up luclin!
Also I prefer as few zones as possilbe in a single city - I hardly play EQ2 since the crazy number of zones to get around the city drives me nutz (amoung other things like the UI).

Have Fun!

I'm gonna give it a 3. But I don't plan on going in thee anyways...not the best place for an afternoon stroll for a Dark Elf :p Just please...do NOT redo Neriak....I love that city.

Poor Vah Shir. They got to the moon when their orginal home blew up. Now their new home is also going to blow up!

I really hate it! Reminds me of EQ2, dirty looking, unrealistic, and too spread out. I sincerely hope they don't do this to other zones. If I had liked these kind of scenes I would have stayed with EQ2.

My first impression was Shar Vahl the second. I gave it a 3. It's ok but so was the old freeport. Getting around freeport my be a little easier now.
