It was my understanding that they are no longer supporting the old UI. Some in my guild have been using:

http://www.eqinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=4615

Haven't checked it out myself since I've gotten used to the new one, but I've been told it works fine.

You can fix your UI manually by swapping some files and folders around, but I think there are some new icons in PoR which may cause some issues with just a straight swap of old files for new. Might have to poke around and look for additions with the expansion patches.

No, SoE stated that they will not support it anymore, but modders will keep it up. I'm already using a bank window, and I was beginning to suspect the guild window problem was UI related.

Hi

I use the 'Default_Old' due to the Icons being larger and have more contrast for my ancient eyes than the 'New UI'

Since PoR came out. It indeed finally went beyond a bit of file deleting and pasting to keep 'Default_Old' running. But over at EQ Interfaces I found Oderry's 'Oderry_POR_BigBank.zip' in

EQInterface downloads > Interface Pieces > Bank window

This fixes the main failure of the old UI that stops it working entirely with PoR, mainly by providing 'Old_UI' compatable files for:

EQUI_BigBankWnd.xml
EQUI_BankWnd.xml

There are a number of ways to keep the 'Default_Old' UI current.

The way I did it was to create a new UI folder called 'Real_UI' and copied over all the 'Default_Old' files. I then copied the following files out of 'Default' into 'Real_UI' overwriting old files or adding to the list:

EQUI_BlockedPetBuffWnd.xml
EQUI_BlockedBuffWnd.xml
EQUI_AuraWnd.xml
EQLSUI_CreditsWnd.xml
EQUI_AdvancedDisplayOptionsWnd.xml
EQUI_GuildManagementWnd.xml
EQUI_RaidOptionsWindow.xml
EQUI.xml
EQUI_OptionsWindow.xml

Plus the following graphics file as it has some new items in it:

dragitem34.tga

I also copied over the cursors as they are the only part of the 'New' UI I like.

You can also copy over the new:

EQLS_background_01.tga
EQLS_background_02.tga
EQLS_background_03.tga
EQLS_background_04.tga
EQLS_background_05.tga
EQLS_background_06.tga

If you want the newer background to login etc.

Finally I added both of Oderry's new bank files.

While it's not the most elegant or technically savvy way of doing it, it works for me with no in game errors or problems Smiley: smile

While over at EQInterface they do have a couple of slicker solutions.
I found that some were a wee bit beyond my capabilities Smiley: confused

Hehe!

But I am trying Kivuli's "Default_old PoR compatible big bank" today that adds Text Labels to each of the slots in a variant of the new large Bank Window. See if that will help my memory as well as my eyes Smiley: laugh

I got the message from CS taht the old UI will no longer work for the bank specifically - and some other stuff. My promblem with the new UI is that the icons for the spells are so much smaller and they are very blurred looking. And I don't think my video card is at fault - have very hig end video cards(SLI on one box)

But I'm adjusting to where they go - at least the upgrade didn't wipe out my memmed sets. I play my casters with hot keys while playing my tanks with the mouse, so it works out. I allways 2-box so have one of each up whenever playing.

My old eyes are part of the promblem - but it seems like Sony could have made the spell gems a little more easily recognized - now we have to learn all nes graphics for every spell.

You can use the new UI and still bring over the old spell icons, that's what I do.

Decided to give you a link with instructions

I started using the NEW UI when PoR released. I no longer get the mark on my compass for missions even though I still get the emote saying its there. Anyone able to tell me how to fix this?

Mark is barely visible on mine, but it's there, not bright like it was on old UI.
