gon, what exactly is your problem? Is your screen mostly dark with only a few feet of visibility? That might be your clipping plane pushed all the way down. The "clipping plane" controls how far away from you the world is drawn. Go to your Options window and click Video and look for the Clipping Plane slider.

I can't remember whether I see the sun (I think I do) in POK...I don't see the fog in that zone, but there are times I zone into one zone or another and have the fog.

I miss the waterfall leading into Thurg. I used to have it at one time or another, but haven't had the waterfall for several expansions now. The creek/stream of glowing water is there leading to the cave with all the wurms in it (and eventually to the doll house), but just a blank wall where a waterfall should be.

I've always thought these are due to graphics card/cpu/MB combinations of the various players and the code the EQ writers use to take advantage of the various abilities of the different pieces parts that make up our computers.

I win!! Smiley: grin

You can change your clip plane on the fly with Shift - or Shift = (which equtes to typing _ or +) to deal with lag issues, such as 200 people in front of the bank in PoK.

As for the waterfall by Thurgadin, that's controlled by the particle effects. The controls have changed somewhat over the years; now hey're split up into Spell, Env(ironment) and Player. Check the Env tab (in Options under Video) and see if that's turned on.

Just the other day whatever displays fog (I think) was bugged such that I saw the sky in Everfrost. That was an strange feeling since I've spent so much time there and am use to seeing the nothingness above me.

It was a nice twilight sky with pinks and oranges. I blamed global warming at the time.

I think the sun was ganked by a mob of FFIX's who infiltrated the zone and then flamed each other, there by creating a temporary black out effect.
