I can not in good conscience reccomend a way to level up in blacksmithing. I myself stopped smithing 2 years ago at level 189.
However there are folks over at www.eqtraders.com who would love to have you join the addiction. Try there.

Look at eqtraders, read the economical smith, do a search on these forums. Good luck.

Thank you,

No matter how i do this it looks like it will not be cheap. Time or moneywise.

By far the cheapest in terms of plat is to use the Shar Val smithing quest to get the tools to make shadowscream armor.

Then farm Hollowshade Moor for the ingredients you need.

This will get you close to 300.

Shadowscream takes you to 267. All it takes is the patience of a saint while you spend dozens of hours farming green mobs for drops.

Did that sound bitter?

I think i may do the shadowscream method. It looks the least expensive. A friend did the sickles, and said he spent a ton of plat, and he has plat falling out of his ummmm, pockets, yea pockets. He can play for days on end farming and selling in the baz.

Master's DoN armor is a good option, depending on your race. It also has an increased chance to give you a skill-up over other combines.

Cazic Thule is a hot zone now. All the lizards in the front are still light blue to me at level 70 and their blood, along with a few other minor items, can take you all the way 295. The armor made from this doesn't sell very well in the bazaar, but check out the tribute values...

4492 tribute for these

Cheapest route is Shadowscream Armor up to 268 but that requires tons and tons and more tons of farming. Next Route would be a good raiding Guild and making Pop armor or doing the Cultural Armor quests and Farm some more. Final method No Farming but you better be filthy stinkin RICH, Mistletoe Cutting Sickle

Heads up I started Mistletoe Cuttling Sickles at 230ish. I just hit 300 with over 400k spent (I lost count). Averaging about 1-2 skill-up per every 40 combines. Only good news is I have maxed my personal tribute on 2 toons and guild tribute in 3 different guilds.

I would recommend Shadowscream - much, much cheaper.
