I actually had a few of my toons PL'ed to a certain level. I find that you can not tell if you actually like a class until atleast level 20.

For example, I made a Half Elf Bard and had a friend PL me to 20. I played him for a week or so and discovered that I do not enjoy playing a Bard.

On the other hand though, the same friend PL'ed my Dwarf Pally to level 20 and I love him.

I have never had a toon PL'ed higher than 20. BTW, this was all before to tutorial...

Thanks for the info Rydogg, even though a brain-dead 3 year old could have given the same.

Using your method, instead of buying plat, why not just buy an account? Your PLee will have roughly the same knowledge of the class, which is pretty much none. Oh, and with the complete lack of skills, your gimpy new character will be spending about the next year to level them all up anyway.

Don't let these other people talk you out of Powerleveling. There is nothing wrong with it, if you want to do it, then do it. Too many of these Nancy Boys ***** and whine if you even think of mentioning what they think of as the Taboo subjects such as PL'ing, buying accounts, or buying plat. I do all three, and sell all three also. Play the game like you want to play it and don't let the bleeding vaginas talk you out of it.

I wouldn't complain about high level PL'ed characters if they didn't get me killed. Example, one monk was pulling the other night and didn't have his feign death maxed out (at lvl 62)and got us all smoked.

Keep PL'ing your characters to a high level, just don't ask me for a group.

FFATMA, you are welcome for the post. If any brain dead 3 year old could have posted the same, I don't see any tips from you, so what does that say about your brain process?
And as for your comment about buying accounts, I say go for it. I buy accounts and sell accounts. It's not like you need a degree in Advanced Molecular Biology to play this game. Or, maybe you are just venting over your lack of brain processes that you can't understand how to play different classes. My "gimpy" characters have their skills maxed with about a week of playing also. Not a year, like you say it takes. Maybe this is where your jealousy comes from, you only understand one class, and it takes you a year to get his skills up. Gotcha. Thanks for the helpful insight into your gaming world.

Shadomen, I am sorry that the monk killed you. That's not how I play though. You will notice that I said I tend to PL in out of the way, mostly deserted zones.

With the amount of people out there that can't seem to play their class, you are certainly not helping it any. Of course, the type of people that might count you as a friend would not be people I would want to share a group with anyway, so I guess that doesn't matter. As for PLing tips, take 5 minutes and do a simple search on any search engine and you'll find not only "your" wonderful tips, but many other guides as well. That is why I didn't waste my time. It's been covered a million times already. If you had used your brain, you could have provided one of any number of links to a very similar strategy, rather than type it all out.

As for PLing, it isnt evil not at all. my CLR was pled to 20. And Right now Im a very decent cleric. Casual - Havent raided yet going to start that soon. if you have a necro then use it and use your spells to give your hp to your target to heal your friend. after a few casts you will gain hate, and your friend still gains the exp.

what server are you on? if you are on bert i wouldnt mind giving you a hand. got a 49 almost 50 clr(Mid Epic(Meaning im half done with it)) - 35 nec and my 23 SK

Actually, I should clarify that I don't have anything against powerlevelling an experienced player. I two-box and will often PL my own characters, using my druid or enchanter. I just don't think people should be PLed into their 60's from scratch. And to say that it's ok to buy 100k plat to gear up your PLee is just annoying as hell to me. If you can't make 100k in a few hours using a 70 druid, you need to do some research.

The OP wanted to know what PL'ing was, and how to PL. I showed him how I PL. He didn't ask for links. Why don't you provide links? So far you have brought nothing to this discussion, FFATMA. I don't care who you choose to group with. Your stance that you wouldn't group with the type of people that call me as friends is retarded as well. There is a reason people sell stuff from this game online. There is money in it, lots of people do it, and lots of people buy it. I would venture to say that on any given day that you get a group, someone in your group has done so, or is using a bought toon. You probably don't notice it, probably never had, and they probably wouldn't want to say anything about it to you. You are one of the Bleeding Vaginas I was talking about. I don't care if it makes you annoyed as hell to buy or sell plat. Guess what, though? I am still going to do it, and so is everyone else. Don't buy it, It makes no difference to me.
Oh, and I can make 100k in an hour with my Druid. I am quite good at it actually. Just remember FFATMA, when you walk up to that trader in the baz, and buy that shiny new piece of gear you have ALWAYS wanted for your next POS character you make, you are feeding the machine. Cause that trader is someone like me that's safely tucking away your 3k you worked so hard to earn in his bank vault. Waiting for his balance to hit 500k, or a million before turning around and selling it online and making money off of a hobby.
I am done replying to this thread however. You can't convince me that buying/selling plat/toons is de debil. And I won't convince you that you are wasting your energy and time getting your feelings hurt over it and twisting your panties in a wad.

Uh huh, if you can make 100k so easily, why are you advocating buying some to gear up the person you are PLing? Isn't that a little stupid? To buy some plat from the people you sell these millions to? And even if you do seriously sell this plat to buyers, the amount you would make is laughable to anyone with a real income. I'll play a game and keep work seperate from it, thanks anyway.

Guess I would annoy people then, I was twinked from birth and on a fast track being powerleveled by friends and hubby. But, mind you not pled like in 20 days or 50 levels in an mm, or anything like that, but over the course through say level 50 I certainly was "carried" by friends.

The thing is those that helped me do this a very veteran players and were smart about where they did it, ensuring my skills climbed as fast. Did I know where to go? No, I was a true newbie and as lost as could be. If they had not helped me I would have died of frustration too many times and gone back to the idiot box for entertainment. But that is me.

For myself after my main was leveled up to hold my own in a group, I then began other toons in the tutuorial and did it the slow, hard, solo way. Fun, I learned alot and am still learning. (To me the best part of the game is the Everlearning!)

Ebay toons and mm levelers are not hard to spot in a group, but even those given time will get the skills and ability to play up if they are dedicated to learning the game and working in the right directions. Best advice I can give the ones wanting to be powerleveled, find someone who is successful in the game and your class/race and pick their brains for information, then find a friendly druid or pally that will buff and drag along for heals and fun!

Biggest disadvantage to me being pled was I was on auto-follow to get to everywhere and now have the title Brigade Commander of the Lost In A Closet Brigade. I earned that title by losing my group in Kaesora and a rescue team of guildies had to come rescue me and the group. Not to mention it took me 6+ months to remember where the Nexus stone was (so glad the made a bazaar entrance in PoK).

To me whether you pl or not, if you are dedicated to the game you will get where you need to be either way. JMO.

heh

that is my bigest pet peeve about PLed, purchased, whatever toons...

not knowing their way around, not knowing how to get to a group. dying on the way becuase they are cluless.

but i avoid this by doing as little p/u groups as possible. takes me 5 min max to get to almost anyplace in the game. then frustrates the hell out of me waiting for someone that is lvl 70, and can't find the place we are going to go hunt, or doesn't have lev, or invis, or whatever it takes to travel. so takes 30-40 min to get them there.

but your correct in the part about getting friends to help you learn. the game has alot of zones, and can intimidate the new player. maybe i should clarify something, it isn't just pled toons that get lost, i know people that have played for years and are cluless as well on getting places....

so to re phrase..... my pet peeve is anyone that can't find their way out of the...this made me laugh.."Lost In A Closet Brigade"

I agree Keyera, without a doubt. Not knowing the zones is a huge drawback. Sadly if a zone wasn't a great xp zone the odds are high I haven't been there at all. Which is a real handicap at travel time.

I understand the frustration because I see others now that don't know the zones that I even know. I just try to be patient and paint my nails or something while I wait, because I know people have had to wait on me, lol and at times still have to wait on me.

My hubby fusses at me that I stay lost, but it is his fault for not teaching me the zones. Hehe, all I hear about is how easy it is now, "if you had to travel by boat like we used to you would never make it". And no I don't automatically know where the wizzies spires are in each zone! lol

i try to be patient as well, and i succed most times. it is the times when i am limited on play time that it gets me ;-)
