Ascent Mobs - HelpFollow

#1 Mar 12 2006 at 10:03 AM Rating: Decent
Well, a group tried last night twice. Second time, the Leader made it to the top of the mountain soloing and no problems.

However, that second time and the first time as nearing the top some mob saw Invis? That is the main question, what does see invis in that zone and that last part.

One thought maybe a Kirin Student. However, another got hit by other mobs. Invis could have dropped but have the thought that maybe one or mobs see invis.

Also, any suggestions on getting to the top and the Kirins there and also once there, what strategy to fight them.

Any special type group might be the best?

Thanks

My observation has been that it's random cats who see invis. And that there is always a few along the way. You need to con every mob as you go, and plan how to take out the see invis when they show up. It's sometimes just easier, if not as fast, to just fight your way up and kill them all.

/agree Fallonn. I recently did the Tier 2 DoN quests of killing the mobs there with me (70 monk) & 3 others (shaman, beastlord & necro). Once we were on the second part of the Ascent we fought most of the way up. The only times we wouldn't fight is if there were no kirins nearby and there were no mobs that saw invis (which didn't happen often). The stone guardian mobs all saw through invis on my last run and some drakes & goblins also saw invis. For the most part it is random and unless you have a class that can scout, it is probably safer to fight your way up.

Ive see goblins and statue mobs that see invis as well I think its just a random chance after you get to second area.

The best answer is to just bring a group.

I do not understand why you are trying to bypass killing your way to the top. As mentioned, it is less trouble to do so.

As far as dealing with the mobs at the top, use the standard one-at-a-time strategy. Bring an Enchanter or Bard to mesmerize.

Do you mean he made it to the top solo and invisible or he "soloed" as in killing his way alone to the top? There is a huge difference.

Usually one of the first caster drakes will see invis.
Also a mini-camp of 3 goblins at one of the turns has a caster
type that sees invis, usually it's the one that roams.
As always, /con before trying to pass anything.
Harmony/tranquility works here, so a ranger with group innate
camo can get a group quite far before being forced to fight, if
concentrating on drops and not kills is your goal.
The first time we plowed our way to the top was a satisfying event :)

I soloed my kirins there on my chanter. I bypassed all the mobs before the kirins at the top and 2nd half. It was easier than fighting all the way up.

I duoed the 3 Kirins that are in the lower half of the top part of the zone.

I ran between the 3 camps invis and took them out one at a time...went back to the first one, and waited about 2 minutes for repops...did it again.

All told, about 45 minutes tops, for all the mobs...was it 9 of them?

(66 pally and 70 dru)
