Fabled Mobs EtiquetteFollow

Beginning tomorrow there will likely be lines of groups or individuals waiting for a turn to fight a fabled creature.

When your group has waited its turn in line, is it proper etiquette to fight the fabled X-times and farm the drop for each member of your group who needs it? Or should you return to the back of the line after getting the drop one time?

I've always done fabled mobs as a team killing with everyone at the camp. We just maintained a list of who gets to loot next. I usually will stay a few kills past my own to help others. Can't say I've ever really brought a group with me, usually just grab whoever else is at the camp to help kill.

I usually do fableds late at night though, so there is much less competition.

Its really subjective.

If you have a raid MOB up, or a smaller guild that's using a raid for a groupable MOB, it could take quite a while for everyone to get something.

There's not truly a law of the land to EQ.. its more might makes right. At least, from a PvP prospective, its entirely this way. I can't remember the last time I've seen a GM, so I'm rather doubting that its far different on blue servers.

I'd suggest trying to work it out case by case, trying to deal with those already there and those incoming as it all comes.

As for my friends on Zek, I'd suggest loading up on insta-cast teleporting items. The Leatherfoot hat one from the Rivervale quest is a personal favorite, as a Halfling.

Your guildleader explained to me that gamers are only concerned with getting on with their own game.

So, if you can get into one of your guild groups you don't have to worry about others. You can camp the mob as long as you want.

Typically if it is a good fabled item that is common(ishva jboots FBBS etc) there will be a list and the entire camp kills it(like he said above most people will stay for a kill or two after they get it and new people are comming in all of the time and add to the list/kill force)

If it's a avg item(say like the ones in unrest) then it is pretty much like any named mob if you get there first then the camp is yours

If its a raid mob(like trak was) then it is just like any other raid first in force pretty much

I can't wait to see these fabled......imagine fabled velks(hell you could probably put in 10 minor-decent fableds in this zone and one major raid mob) >_>

Fabled ToV!!!

And wouldn't it be badass if they put in fabled warders! or hell a fabled sleeper =p

LOL. One side of me would want to stay off the entire Velious continent if that happens.

I can just picture some of the items now

Fabled Vermilion Robe of Torrefaction 285hp/mana clicky conflag(SoS would be better with a 15 sec caster >_>)

Fabled Blade of Carnage 32/27 250hp 30ac EB proc >_>

#8REDACTED, Posted: Mar 14 2006 at 7:53 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) erm camping for your group is fine. But what usually happens. So and so perma camps and gets the items for 7 alts. This stuff cant be happening. If your alts arent highenough even for a group to take a fabled down. then leave the camp and allow someone else the oppertunity to get the item. This is where need Vs greed comes in. If you are not of level, you dont need it, you are just greedy. This year I would like to see some respect in this area because ALOT of people get left out due to perma campers.

Fabled Tormax is not going to pop that soon after he dies and he will be hard. I doubt there will be lines for him and he will be like he was back when Velious released, a popular raid target on a first come first serve basis.

As for the "lesser" fable in Velks and such, I think it will be like the Rubicite Armor camps...

Reckon I'd hafta disagree with this statement. For instance, jboots great item for any level but especially lower levels that would need help killing her to get them.

Just because someone is perma-camping for several alts, friends, guildees, whatever doesn't mean they won't allow you a turn. I've never had any trouble when I've asked. But I do always hafta ask.

Being of a certain level is silly - by that thought you'd never be able to buy anything in /baz either.

things like Tormax AoW Dain Vulak Velks and Zland will be grabbed by the mid/high end guilds(i doublt very much a pick up raid could kill one of these targets) and they will perma camp them as soon as they figure out the spawn time probably.....

define greed??

Is camping for an alt greedy?
#14REDACTED, Posted: Mar 14 2006 at 10:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yes it is. If you alt isnt of level to fight th emob to get its NO DROP item. then you donot need it. that is greed.

I am hoping, after it was mentioned in guild chat tonight, to see the Fabled Snow bunny.
Or how about the fabled MoTQ for paladins. )

An alt not of level to even fight the mob does NOT deserve the right to own the NODROP item. There are others more deserving who are of level that you are taking that drop from.

My wizard couldn't solo fabled trak......does that mean it was greed then to get the fabled mana robe??

Why shouldn't my alt get a chance to gear up during fabled weak?? What if I play my alt more than my main?? Shouldn't he have the same chance as everyone else on a fabled list??

Infact by gearing up alts wouldn't I be helping others on the list to get their fabled items since my friends and I bring our mains(which is usually more than enough to kill a fabled) and help kill till we each get our alts the item(and help kill it for anyone above us on the list)?

I gotta disagree with this comment too. A toon might not be "of level" right now, but next month when that toon IS of level the fabled mobs might not be around until next year. There is no reason to NOT do a fabled yet just because you aren't high enough to wear the item today. They might un-nerf MM's tomorrow and you could be lvl 70 by the end of the week.

Also, just because they have what seems to us to be a tradition of bringing the Fabled mobs out every anniversary doesn't mean they will do it every year and doesn't mean the same fabled mobs will be back with the identical item..... pass on getting an item now and you may never have the opportunity again....

I think when folks are saying "Don't be greedy" they are refering to the type of asshats that will monopolize a camp to the exclusion of all else. Meaning when you politely say something like "Hi there, just wondering how long you guys plan to be here. Is there a list I could get on or something like that so I can get a shot at so-and-so's item? =)" and they reply with something to the effect of "F*#K off n00b, we ownz0r this camp and will be here until the event is over". yes, this was a real response from a guild on Seventh Hammer during the last anniversary Fabled-Fest

I hope that everyone gets that cool item they've been looking for this year and that every can all keep their honorable feet forward when sharing camps =)

See you in line! Smiley: yippee

At least when you misquote me you don't attach my name to it.

The correct quote which was a from a private message was:
Quote:
People here are just gamers, many times they are not concerned with other players, but more with getting on with their own game.
I am sure many people here would agree with that statement.

However if you ASK for something, 99% of the time the same gamers will be happy to accomodate you.

Give it a rest.
