Is it just me, or has SoE yet again handed out a goodie package directed towards the smaller percentage of most server populations?

Most of the places they put the new fabled this year are geared towards the high end raiders. Specifically if your speaking of items semi worth going after. Of course by the time these end game players can get there and do them the stats are so far below what they expect it might not be considered worth while.

Mean while the other 85 to 90% of the server population are set to quivel over scraps, and reruns of last years fabled mobs, some of which have had steroid injections to make them even more difficult.

Just wanted to drop a note and ask SoE if I coud at least get a reach around next time.

End gamers? Flame on! Do you really think SoE would miss the 10 to 15% of you?
Yet another year of Level/Gear/Uber Quest.

That's because velious was more notable for its raid mobs to begin with.

Our group of avg level 40 saw at least 3 Fableds in Tower of Frozen Shadow and Iceclad.

Fabled Garou (someone else was fighting DB con)

Fabled Narmak Barreka (and pet) conned red, good fight and killed by 40s group. Dropped SK only sheild.

Fabled Cara Omic (this one was bugged as there were 30 copies in her lair) wiped us hehe...

Fabled Maggot infested flesh (easily killed by a 60s group) dropped a weak neckpiece. 50s level fairy mission necklace is better.

Fabled Tserina (easily killed by 60s group) Dropped FT2 robe, not as good as Master's DoN except for the extra mana regen.

Hardly took uber high-end raiders, just run of the mill bazaar geared folk.

We are going to try Cara again when there is one of her to deal with, with a 40s group.

If you want the fatastic loot, well sure you will need level 70s and go after Fabled Tormax or whatever, but there are some Fableds on Velious available to average players.

fabled chief rygor, fabled orc oracle right next to him.

i soloed both at the same time. drops were fable BP off chief, and fable back item off oracle, the back item was +2 mana regen, very nice item.

both fabled drops were min lvl 45, and had about 100hp/mana each.

VERY nice items, both mobs do able by a lvl 40 group i would say.

so before you speak, you might just want to go check eh?

also, last year there were a a low lvl fabled mob in SK, droped fabled robe with +mana regen on it, i soloed it as well, loged my lvl 46 ench in and looted it.

maybe if you knew what mobs to go after, you wouldn't think the way you do, so here ya go:

I have seen some of the items that have dropped and find one glaring oddity. All of it seems low in AC. Even the really good items seem to need an aug to be worth wearing if your a tank. The rest of it hps mana stats etc is nice not sure why the AC is low though.

Edit-- I should clarify low ac on it for the levels of the people required to pull it down. Your anguish force pulling down AoW is looking for stuff with more then say 20-50 ac on it comparative to the slots that they are filling.

Yea, all the new fabled are only for high end raiders. Hate to break it to you but a few of my friends in high end raid guilds (Demiplane and up) are rolling their eyes at the effort to itemization ratio.

If you don't like the rewards the fabled mobs are giving then go back to your monster missions or paludal caverns.

Furthermore, a number of the drops come from zones in which you do not need a key. Considering the work it takes to become flagged or keyed (aside from being 85ed into the zone), the opportunity to obtain a lot of this fabled gear for some guilds is fantastic. I've also heard some chatter that the ac on a lot of the gear may be adjusted.

There's really nothing wring with the way they turned out this year's Fabled mobs. The old ones are still around - old world and Kunark - and Velious has a nice level spread of gear. As mentioned, the Ry`Gorr and Tower of Frozen Shadow stuff, which Aude Sapere has already collected on, is good loot for a ~60 group. With Tserrina's robe and the Ry`Gorr cloak, my 65 bazaar-ish necro added about 60hp/mana and 4FT upgrading. Fabled Crystal Caves stuff should be about the same.

The debate about newer content for high-end raiders is old, and without merit. Of course they need to release more high-end stuff. As power-raiders progress through the end game, they need more content once they "complete" an expansion. There's nowhere else for them to go but up. There is already lots and lots and lots and lots of content for folks 1-65. Most people just go through whatever the fastest leveling route is anyways, just to get to that end game.

using your list and your highlighted mobs, the count is 78 new fabled, 54 of which you did not highlight, leaving 24 for the non top end raiders.

So I ask again, why would SOE drop in mobs, 69% of which 85 to 90% of the servers populations will never get a chance to see?

The numbers are backwards again 69% for 10 to maybe 15, ok on the outside 20% of a servers population?

Leaving a pittance, 31% for the rest to scrap over? Most of which contains gear that at best needs adjusted?

Because that 80-90% still has plenty of content to work with? Do you really think it's fair that those who put the time and effort into high-end raiding shouldn't have any further to go?

This game is notorious for catering to the end-game raiders, but that's only natural. As they push through each expansion, they then need more high-end raid content to keep them active. Those who still play in the lower levels have plenty to keep themselves busy.

why are you acknowledging that some of the lower fabled gear is mediocre, and not acknowledging that most of the higher end fabled gear is downright ****? WW dragons are **** loot. NTOV is **** loot. there's maybe three mobs actually worth killing to any raiders who can kill them.

That's the biggest problem with alot of this stuff this time around. I'm in a casual guild and some of this so-called 'high-end' fabled stuff dropping would actually be a downgrade for my equipment not to mention I am not even currently capable of getting a force together to get it. Barring a few pieces here and there, it's mostly worthless for anyone who has a chance at getting it.

Instead of doing fabled on Friday night, I did three of the Korlach missions in DoD. Got some pretty nice exp, and upgraded 5 gear slots. Fairly significant upgrades too.

I'll probably still hit some fabled before all is said and done, but when you look at the Velious Fabled compared to previous ones, this time certainly looks like a mediocre effort in comparison. It's unfortunate too, as there seemed to be a ton of buzz about this year's events.

Though I haven't explored Fabled anything much, I can't say that it interests me from looking at the loot. Don't get me wrong I would love to have some of it, sure I can use a cloak with 275 hp etc. But do I stand a chance of getting those items? No the are raid level mobs and we all know it. So other than those uber Fabled items, the rest is bobo loot, for a level 70 player.

Frankly there is a big wide crack here, those low enough to really get something they can use, and those high and with enough power behind them to go after the raid mobs for it. The rest of us are yawning and again falling through the cracks.

As one poster put it, I already have better gear than anything that is attainable, in my case. Dbl xp is the best thing going for many, many of us.

Hehe. Feel free to offer some up.

I'll likely have better luck on getting folks together for Fableds after double exp. From the reports I've heard, though, some of the dragons are insanely difficult, wiping whole raids of Time geared and higher guilds in seconds. True or not, dunno, but I have seen what they drop and I'll pass on those. Definitely gotta get some Velious Fabled's for kicks before all is said and done though.

casual players are the only people getting worthwhile upgrades from fableds.

with maybe two exceptions, raid fabled loot is absolute trash.

I love how people always make it out to be casuals getting shafted and raiders catered to, when raiders are getting shafted at least as hard =p

We haven't attempted any yet (still basking in the "glory" of our newly won Tacvi access Smiley: tongue), but according to the raider's grapevine everything that looks remotely interesting seems scaled miles above the level of the people who are likely to be interested.

Several guilds around/just below our level have wiped to AoW, which we would not consider worth our while (except for the satisfaction of just killing him again Smiley: wink).

There is a bit of debate as to whether Vulak is worth an attempt, but based on the intel so far, we would have as much success with him as we did with fabled VS Smiley: rolleyes.

If I had a vote on the Raid Council (not that I do), if we are going to try something new I'd rather work on DoDh progression. Antraygus is well overdue for a butt kicking.

P.S. But, I am always interested to read about other peoples experiences in battle, hence my first post.

Too funny to me that you think raiders are getting shafted. Maybe they are, the very high high end ones. You already are the high end gamers and get the best loot. For a 70 paladin with gm armor, and 430+ aas I am no slouch. I know my game well but I do not have the want to raid 24/7. For those of us in this boat the high end loot is out of the question. So yes, we hope there are goodies in this for us. But not so, they aren't attainable.

I think you are quick to put down those of us not raiding full time, but until you are not doing it and just playing a 70 toon (with non-raid gear) and see that nothing is attainable for the great and wonderful anniversary, you can't understand why it bites. It may bite for you also, if so I am sorry, but don't doubt it bites for many of us. At this point dbl xp and free party cake is it. At least I don't have to buy food for awhile! lol

lower end fableds have a wide variety of 100hpish loot. Quite a bit of that upgrades many casually geared players.

Im disapionted with fabled loot this year. The loot seems to weaker overall compared to last years. Now your saying how can these 275hp items be weaker then last years 85 to 90 hap items. Well its a case of compareing raid items to single group items and factoring in a years worth of mudflation.

Last year there was strong feeling that there were single group fabled drops that were decent upgrades for Nonraiders. This year it is now grouped with average MM loot that will Rot 90% of the time.

Notice I call them Nonraiders not Casual it is because I dont agree with trying to lump the two groups togeather. A Casual is a person who is limited in amount of time he can play the game. A Nonraider on other hand isnt limited by play time in fact may have a very high amount of play time but instead is limited by the fact that for whatever reason they dont Raid.

THe average Nonraider has a large gear advantage over the average Casual player. Not as large as the gear advantage Raiders have over Nonraiders but a large enough advantage that with a few exceptions all single group fabled loot is not a upgrade for them. This contrasts with last year when a good amount of fabled loot was viewed as atleast a small upgrade over there existing loot.

The problem seems to be that Sony has not taken into account that a years worth of mudflation has had on Nonraiders gear levels.

A year ago we were at the start of DoN and most Nonraiders had very little DoN merchant are DoN tradeskill armor. The limited amount of these items helped make last years fabled items viable upgrades for Nonraiders. Now a year later and those same Nonraider are in full GM DoN armor with a fair amonut DoDH mission loot thrown in plus a large helping of DoN merchant and DoDH mission augs thrown in as well. The current and former fabled loot available to this type of player is now complete crap compared to what they are already equiping.

Many Raiders fall into the trap of thinking well before I became a Raider most items I had had less then 50hp mana on it and if that was good enough for me then why are 100hp mana items not good enough now? The answer to this is because Nonraiders already have equal are better then 100hp mana items and want upgrades just like raider expect that the Mobs they kill raiding will drop items that will be a upgrade over the one there currently useing.

The single group fabled items for this year seems to have used the same item creation formulas last years events did this has resulted in items being underpowerd when compared to average gear level of Nonraiders of today because of the failure to account for mudflation.

Raiders on otherhand are not really doing any better most of the Guild killing raid fabled actualy are in same boat as Nonraiders in regards to for most part haveing better loot already. In Raiders case expect most of fabled loot to end up on new recruits and alts.

The true Casual player will be very happy with this years single group fabled items because almost everything is a upgrade over what the average casual is currently equiping.
