Druzzil Bow-Just got nerfed, need aug suggestions nowFollow

#1 Mar 21 2006 at 11:59 AM Rating: Decent
Well, bought the Druzzil Bow and loved it, only had it a few days. Last night, my bow got nerfed and now have the Composite Treant Laminated Compound Bow. Money wise, not happy I paid more for the Druzzil one.

Nothing I can and doubt the Druzzil is going to apparently exist any more and if so I sure cant afford another bow like these and so......

I now have two slots. Slot 7 and Slot 4 on bow. What I need advice on is not really the Slot 7, will try and find a Slot 7 one for Range (Ha, good luck on that one).

Slot 4-have used augs on earlier bows (Druzzil didnt have slots). However, I want the best one for this Slot 4 on this bow. So some suggestions please. Now, I do have augs on all my weapons so need more that one aug name since may already have it.

If you also have some ideas on a good Slot 7 Range Aug let me know.

I am assuming that will have to spend more money on RCs and run over to Lavastorm.

Not very happy right now. Spending more Plat right now isnt what I wanted to do.

Thanks

I would say either a lifetap aug or a large DD procing aug with no stun.

It's a shame you can't use the bow on the dweeb who came up with the idea to nerf it. Ohh to be able to hunt developer's toons in game.

If you want some quick and easy to get buy one of these from DoN vendor:

Frozensky Stone

Firecore Geode

-200 to resist isn't bad. No stun. There are some other nice ones as well.

This one might not be too bad for a ranger:

Bloodlust Lichen Stone

I think I would skip lifetap ones on a bow. Maybe for a ranger it might help if you're getting hit by an AE or DoT or something, but other than that... I don't know bows much though hehe.

Radiant crystals seem to be fairly cheap now, but Creator's are just so darn easy why bother? If we're talking about your ranger, grab a necro and wizard and um...whatever else and kite the whole thing. 40 crystals for 20-30 mins of work isn't bad at all. Certainly better than paying for them.

Edit: Actually that Lichen stone would probably suck for a ranger the more I look at it hehe. Nvm. Looks neat at first, though : )

on beta, once upon a time, I found xenaida with a PvP flag left up! I quickly betabuffed a 70 sk and tried to HT her to death. She showed up a little before she died, and proceeded to death touch me. was xping the next day, and BOOM... Groggle has been slain by Xenaida!

I've found that tanks, and their healers in particular, love my Featherwood for the Vampiric Stone Lichen I put on it (https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=36541), because of the stuns; it procs every four or five shots, and easily enough to make a difference in the mob's DPS.

Personally, I would skip stuns, dds and lifetaps on a bow, unless your quite sure the stun if it goes off on a tag will be resisted, you would still get agro on it, but the mob would not be left standing outside of camp. Tank types should be would be better off with the hp/ac/resists aug types.

If I were a ranger, and actually played one full time, I could see the lifetap aug to help delay the eminate ranger gate.

But, thats just my opinion.

yeah stay away from DD or lifetaps augs or anything else that will proc and break a root. Rangers are great in root/rot/shoot groups. You'll be shooting yourself in the foot with a DD aug. Go HP's or resists if you're not maxed

I would stay away from stuns in general too much agro and they don't work on higher end mobs. I would go for lifetap procs(if it breaks root oh well you should have it snared and can reroot or kite it and the extra damage and lifetap will help a lot. Though you can't go wrong with Hp augs.

Are you mostly melee or bow?

The point of using a bow is to not get hurt, so a lifetap proc is useless most of the time, plus, if the lifetaps I have on my melee weapons are anything to go by, lifetap is the single worst aggro generator around, so if you are worried about getting aggro, don't get lifetaps.

A stun proc interrupts mobs, particularly caster mobs, the DD is nice added DPS, particularly when you have your spell AAs, and you should of course always have at least one other bow with you to use for Root'n'Shoot.

Edit: Copied from description of the aug mentioned in one fo the first posts above:
Effect: Ethereal Strike
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 75
2: Stun(1.00 sec/65)
3: Decrease Hate by 200

Notice that third line...

I did a lot of research on this one when I was considering buying augs for my rogue. The problem with this aug is that the -200 to hate only kicks in when it stuns, and if your mob is stun resistant, then all you get is the 75 hp dd. The general consensus is that 90% of all mobs I would be fighting at level 70 would be stun resistant so I passed on this one. If this aug did not have the stun line, I would have bought it.
