I know this game has been around for almost 1/3 of my life time lol and i was just wondering if this game is anywhere near dead.

i dont think so because of the 10 expansions and this great community, your thoughts?

i only bring it up because i am going to buy the titanium pack tonight with all the expansions, my chance to start with 'em all and not be behind, i was wondering if the new players are still rolling in is all, cya soon :)

Think of modern day elderly people. Their youthful stages are long past, though they'll linger on for decades to come.

EQ isn't going to die anytime soon. It is, however, well into an elderly phase where it fails to attract new players to any considerable degree and veterans are dropping off.

Subscriptions are down and the young blood who once drove the game are scarce. EQ isn't dead, though.

We are not yet at death's door, or death's porch, maybe somewhere in the large front yard, or near the street.

The Titanium Pack only goes up to DoD, you will still need to purchase Prophecy of Ro.

It's not what it was.

It's golden years have come and gone.

Populations are fluctuating, some leave, some return.

It doesn't have the same feel and emotional pull it did in the begining.

But it is still hands down the best game out there. And I have no remorse in spending the $15 bucks a month on it for the entertainment I get.

EQ is nowhere near death but certainly is not in good shape on Xegony. You are either in 2 groups the noob type family/chat who never raid guilds and the uber hard core raider guilds. Everyone else has moved on to other things.

This is just on my server and in no means is meant to imply other servers are like this. I think the lfg time and the time needed to form groups is a good way of telling how well a game is going on a certain server and its bad on xegony.

However, the game in general will be around for years with the most hardcore playing hanging on like they will die if they let go.
