I realize this should be in the class forums but the traffic is VERY slow there.

Simple question : I flew through all the levels up to 55 as a Necro but it has really slowed down now. Reminds me of the old " hell levels " . Where can I go to speed up XP , bearing in mind that I would prefer to solo.

Thanks , Beelze on Tribunal

Yes , I went to Natimbi with my Druid as well. It was great XP by quadding in the zone.

Not sure if it will be as good for a solo Necro , but I will give it a try tonight . Thanks

I remember Plane of Nightmare helping me get through those levels quite well. Dragon Necropolis as well might not be too bad. Spiders near zone in also drop phase spider silk which has a tailoring trivial 222 when you combine 2 of them. So it makes a nice bonus :}

I stuck with hotzones on three of my toons through the 50s, except my wiz, who I generally quad kited with.

I noticed that the planes have a nice ZEM, not quite as good as the hotzone modifier, but much better than zones from later expansions. As an example, my 70 wiz could kill a 71 lvl mob in the Nest for half the experience a lvl 62 mob would yield in the planes (HOH).

Plane of Nightmare is good, I'd suggest Raveners (also called werewolves on some servers -- it's in the SW corner of the zone) as they have *slightly* fewer HP than similarly lvl mobs in the zone with the added bonus of dropping (uncommonly) various diamonds and Midnight Stones (cultural TS item -- sells for 1k+ in Prexus baz). With FD, you should be able to single pull this camp (they are all static spawns, making FD single pulling as easy as it gets). On some servers, this can tend to be a hard camp to find open (just a heads up, on Prexus on several occasions, I've been deliberately trained by bards who were trying to take over this camp... one of the few places I've encountered that kind of player ugliness in the game).

If you prefer to fight undead rather than the living, Howling Stones is good for your level, but it does have a mix of living as well. Since it's no longer a hotzone, you may find XP still moves too slowly for you.

NAtimbi is nice b/c you can also get the MP3 book there from the turtles.

I did 55-60 in velks though PoV is nice too(hell until OoW came out PoV was the best EXP there was(including fire))

Don't forget the chance of looting a Phase Spider Carapace. They go for about 10K on CT, give or take 2K. Great twink item for a Shammy or Beastlord. And they sell well, but are rare as hell.

A lot of good suggestions; PoN was my main spot for most of the 50s as well. Trees, birds and spiders north of the ZI, werewolves south of the ZI and if you're feeling adventurous you can try making it to the castle on the opposite side of the zone for gargoyles (though that's mostly for 58+).

Howling Stones is nice, but may be hard to break into if you're not ready to handle 2 mobs, possible living and undead, at the ZI. The ZI platform and basement immediately below make a nice camp until you can start working on the North hall.

Dulak boats would be good now too; depending on which boat you're at (I forget them all now) you clear the dock, then fearkite boat mobs towards the pier. I also spent some time in Broodlands (DoN) soloing the low-level trash. Draniks Scar is also good for this level.

Since it's a hot spot, try Old Seb. Some of your spells may drop and I've been seeing a decent amount of 50s grouping there so that may also be a change of pace for you.

Natimbi was great. The mobs were tough but can be taken down. You could also try POI or POJ if you want weaker opponents. XP is not as fast though

Natimbi is awesome at your level to 60. Fearkite the turtles near the magus using your lowest level fear or in the depression across the water. easy xp to 60 then move to PoStorms and agro kite the frogs in the Forest area, not the ones near the zonein.

They do on Cazic Thule. Every once in a great while I'll see one for as low as 8K, but most are 10K, when there's one for sale at all.

Howling Stones is a great choice for soloing since a) you don't need to buy your 50s spells in the Overthere anymore (hello Abysmal) and b) the break in is way easier now that your pet zones with you.

I did most of my late 50s in PoV Golems with groups.. I don't think you can safely get those snared solo. But, if you can dou with a slightly older necro.. I could drag people through a late 50s level in a few hours up on the plain with the golems and crawlers (and the damn unsnarable spiders I would rune/tap tank to show off).

For the macho, there are some reasonible camps of "Disturbed Elysian Remains" on The Umbral Plains. Once one of the most dreaded zones in EQ for chewing up parties, now you can solo there for fun! (less macho is The Maiden's Eye).

Crypt of Nadox also has soloable areas.. 55 to 60 and beyond. It will be slower XP than the Planes, but everyone needs options. You want to start aggro kiting the Trolls around the camp fire you can see from the "safe spot" (so labeled on most maps). And branch out from there.

Natimbi is likely rocking good.. I was already in the 60s when Gates came out.

Late 50s are a hard time. The spells you get are few and not all that exciting.. you feel like you are fighting harder mobs each level without new tools. The 60s are completely the opposite.. each level builds your power. Hang in there.
