I voted Kunark. The size, complexity, depth and danger of it's dungeons we will not likely see again in an MMO.

(think I voted Kunark last time too...Smiley: tongue)

I voted for Serpent Spine as it is the most complete 1st to 75th expansion where should you not wish to adventure anywhere else you can Almost do it all there. Kunark is definately my second favourite as I love playing Iksar.

However a LOT of zones (All Expansions) have been ruined by "The Buried Sea" with all the Stupid *BLEEP* undead of higher level that the zones they are designed for wandering around.

I think they should make the Undead all be Indifferent unless someone has the quest enters the zone and then they should be auto Aggressive only on those persons.

i've enjoyed buried sea most of all the recent expansions. I was tempted to vote omens first, but there were too many camping issues with those zones that i didn't like. TBS has a lot of really nice quest content, good alt gear, and challenging group missions.

Voted for depths of darkhollow because it really helped the group focused players get balanced with the game and decreased the gap between raiders/non-raiders to ease the entrance of players into their first raiding guild.

Kunark was easily my favourite expansion. It had the best race (imho), amazing amounts of lore, and beautiful (at the time) landscapes.

Not to mention it was still - up until the day I quit - my favourite place to level.

Um ya. I vote no to the auto aggro thng. just a little too much cheese there. But i would like to see an expantion that is 100% undead, one that cant be kited.

I have played since release, and PoP has been by far my favorite expansion. I loved the raid progression, and the plane of knowlede revolutionized the entire game.

Was hard to choose between TSS and RoK, but went with TSS. My third would be PoP, but more and more I'm liking GoD. I never disliked GoD, just never got to experience much of it, previously. I may soon rank it as 3rd.

By far, LoY was the worst one, and the one I could completely done without. There are some nice tradeskill changes that came with LoY, but those could of been implemented with any expansion or between expansions, and Priest quested spells were nice, and a few other minor things. Again those could of all been implemented without it.

TBS... great tasks... easy armor upgrade for non raiders... and i like the idea of camp fires (starts singing kumbayah)

Velious still the best expansion ever.

The only ones who won't think that - never really played it...

totally agree with silvershaft. I joined EQ just before RoK was released. While I did love RoK as an expansion, I believe velious added so many more layers to the game. Raiding took on a whole new dimension in velious, and for the first time, factions became important to gameplay. While I can appreciate later expansions, I definitely feel that RoK and SoV rank up at the top as far as depth to game and as determinants in future gameplay. Other expansions merely continued along the lines preestablished by both RoK and SoV.

I liked the old world best. Kunark was a good expansion, but it was the beginning of the end. From then on it was a race to mudflation.

Sigh, ah well.

WELL i hsd to say OMENS, even with all the tracking/pathing/zoneing/lag issues its about as rock solid and hard as an expansion ever was...EVEN though i play the TSS(Spider camp for aa's) and TBS(solo and group missions) when i have time, i will always enjoy running around the OMENS zones and , of course, getting my @&& waxed!

I voted PoP. That was the expansion that brought me into the game. Even though I started playing around the time DoDH started out, I wasn't fully leveled enough to get the most out of the expansion. I did however, level like mad in many, many monster missions. It was a good way to get some play time with the higher level players and get some rounded skills and a bit of cross-class action. Every game I ever played had me as a plate wearing sword swinger. I was able to get some insight as to how the squishys operated. The shrouds have thier appeal, as well. I've used them for some pinch hitters when a warrior type was unable to fulfill the needs of a task. (Slipgear Gem and now the Wanderlust Guild tasks, for example). I'll have to vote DoDH as a close second.

It was actually hard to vote. The old world expansions up through Planes of Power were all good. They delivered the difficulty and excitment that made Everquest that game it was for the earliest of players (who made it through Planes of Power). I chose PoP because you get to encounter many of the gods that rule the world of Norrath. The progression is also something to be considered as one of the most prized achievements in the game. In my opinion, after Legacy of Ykesha, the game as been geared to the faster paced players and a lot of the original game has been altered to make EQ easier for players to advance. I take pride in my characters and work every one of them through the game, 1 expansion at a time still. I think it's much more rewarding this way, as well as the knowledge I gain playing the characters. I hail the first 4 expansions of EQ! They were awesome.

SoV was the best ever. Yes, it is true that faction played a role in the game before Velious (and after) but never before, and never again, has faction been so absolutely critical. And I loved beating up on giants.

My one regret is that I have yet to kill King Tranix. (Cannot even get his name right) But maybe someday....

Anyway, Velious was definitely THE expansion. Kunark and Luclin were right up there with Velious.

(Went downhill completely with Gates, but it has rebounded somewhat)

Definitely TSS! There's sooo much for every level, tons of quests, and GREAT gear; they really hit it on the nail with that expansion. As for TBS...no comment cuz it wouldn't be pretty. >:-/

I like the old worlds best... but as the player numbers decline i would like to see more stuff the a smaller guild can get to TSS quested gear was a great addition the game needs more stuff like that. These quests keep the game fun for the casual player as well as for servers with decreasing numbers.

Five years I played EQ -- PoP was the beginning of the end for me however. Kunark was the best expansion ever -- exciting and manageable with friends or a small guild. Things to explore -- after PoP the game just became work.

#22 Aug 04 2007 at 8:26 PM Rating: Good
Well, DoDH was the last expansion that I played so I can't comment on the new ones. I enjoyed a lot of the old world but before PoP it was just too time consuming to get from one place to another. PoP will get my vote because of not only the convenience that it added to the game but also just the plane's in general. Getting to meet the gods that ruled Norrath, the raid encounters and just the areas in general. All though DoN didn't add a whole lot to the game I enjoyed it immensely throughout my time w/ the raid progression and the groups. PoP raiding/lore/storyline still has my vote though for adding most convenience and different environmental zones.

I guess that SOE devs browse this (awesome) site and use the polls stats to help them orientate the game in a way that players would like, IMHO they should do since mass statistic is a good benchmarking tool.
If they don't, what if Allakh's team send such results to their SOE contact ? (if this isn't done already).

Just my 2cp :)

i think polls like this might help SOe determine how to keep the players that are still here, but i would think they would be a whole lot more interested in finding content that would bringing in new players, especially in light of reguardless of all their expansions, their player base keeps shrinking every time they launch one.

a poll on why you stoped playing EQ would be more benifical.

I voted for Luclin. Gates of Discord was really close though.

I voted Kunark, eventhough PoP was a close second. The opening of faster movement made the game more accessable to many and that helped it grow, but Kunark was and still is my favorite, though I do not venture there very often anylonger. I loved the Iksar Statues through out the zones...OT, FV, LoIO. The ruins helped make it look like an empire in ruin and disrepair.
