As with so many others, I am returning after a long break. I was wondering if someone could point me to a charm item that a ranger with a small group could get in the mid 50s. I'm curretnly level 57.

Serpent Seeker's CHarm of Lore
It takes a few items (generally the first 5) to get the charm, and it will have low stats, but with all the ground spawns, /open, and the 1 quest in Goru`kar Mesa, it'll get to around 163 h/m/e if I recall correctly.
It's still probably the best bet at your level, and the XP for the Steppes, and Icefall Glacier /open and ground spawn turn ins is very nice at that level, and unbelievable when less than 30th level.
This charm should last you until 65-70ish when you can start getting SoF charms.

I like to get https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=73622, get xp while doing it. You can then do the slipgear quest to augment it nicely.
I don't care for TSS expansion so I avoid the charm quest there.

Woohoo! Thanks again! I've got my Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore and will work vigorously to upgrade it while the XP is double this weekend!
Grats, but you should know, that xp mod (although I'm not sure about server xp mod, but xp potions and lessons of the devoted AA for sure), do not affect quest xp :( I hope the game wide xp mod works though, it would make the turn ins unbelievable :)
EDIT: I have been corrected in another post, Quest XP does affect regular XP, just not AA XP :-/
