Hello Norrath,

I'm a level 71 paladin at the moment, really only half a yellow in, I had quit to go play WoW (around TSS era), but, got bored and came back and upon my return I came to the realization that my lack of AA's would be the death of me (I only have roughly 71 or whatever the amount it used to require just so I could get my Holy Steed) so I grinded and grinded CoDecay and Veksar, I'm now at 241 in total and am rather bored of the soloing vek/Codecay and was wondering what to do now? Should I keep going on the long and rocky road of grinding or do you think it would be wise for me to start leveling again?

should have start grinding for AA at 76... gear is better spells are awesome at that lvl... and to what i did on my SK i stop and grind at 76... (click maggy for gear (Othni armor can still be bought at Baz and some other revamped toys) but it is still your choice... a Pally with bane undead plus a merc cle can really own

Try solo'ing on the undead in Arcstone near Ravenglass area, that should be a challenge and some enjoyment for you.

What server are you on?

@ Wuvarien
Well the paladin I speak of is on Druzzil Ro. I tried Arcstone mobs before I got a merc and upgraded my weapon and other items, and got thoroughly owned, but I can give it a shot...again lol.

@ Skelexis
My guy actually has the darkened brig tuni from revamped guk (paid a pretty penny for that clicky invis...) really I have no issue farming either Codecay or Veksar (skillwise), since some PuG raids I've managed to obtain some rather nice pieces of gear and my char is also is full Elab Stal w/ augs (had a rather good friend help me out there, he was in the class armor business before defiant came in but thats neither here nor there) so overall I think I'm ok gear wise.

My guy currently has maxed Weapons Affin and Slay undead, which combined with my Greatsword of Mortification (PuG Anguish group ftw) Slay Undead procs 14k often.

But now here comes my next question, should I try to level with just me and a merc in coDecay or try to find groups in hotzones(I heard the Ascent actually sucks)

All help is appreciated :)

Ascent sux ... dunno why they put that in Hot zone *sigh... yes lvl your guy in my opinion. Paladins more of a defensive type hybrid and the higher Def skills AA you got the better you be... and at higher levels (forgot what spells was that) you can reverse heal (something like a lifetap but no damage to enemy you get a good proc heal tho) bah ive been playing my SK far too long and forgot about my Paladin (and he was supposed to be my main hahaha)

Hi there. First off, welcome back to EQ!

As for lvl vs. AA, everyone has their own opinion. Personally, I'd reccommend getting at least CA 10 and CS 10. They have a reduced return above that, but help you tank a lot.

Also, I'd sword and board when tanking the hard hitters (lot less mana to heal), also get the shield block aa's done.

Another zone to consider for undead is Ruins of Illsallin, off of Undershore. Try the center island (multiples might be harsh for you though).

I'd suggest pugs in DSH or Valde as well when you get tired of solo/moloing.

Your magelo looks pretty good.

Couple of things stood out, first was some empty aug slots. Fast and easy way to find upgrades is check current and former hotzones for the hotzone augs. Lots of 15/40ish hp ones, one in sunder is 18ac/40ish hp. Once you have every aug slot filled with some AC, I'd work on the 4 20s and 4 25s from RSS.

As for AA's, I'd get both CA and CS to 10, Shield Block to at least 3 (6 if you can, helps a LOT when sword and boading a hard hitter).

Oh, remember that the shield counts outside the AC softcap, so put your highest AC aug in it for best return.

Best of luck, and if you need any more advice, you can shoot me a tell in game. My main is Elricvonclief, a 85 pally with 2.5k AA on Bristlebane.
