The last items you'd sellFollow

You've outlevelled it ages ago, maybe not even playing characters that could use it --but you just can't bring yourself to sell that EQ item.

Here's my list of in-the-bank-for-ages goodies:

1. The Blued Hammer -Legendary from Beta and really hard to obtain with the King Xorbb drop... I actually did sell one once (for a fortune to me) but the 2 years to redo the quest made that a never again situation.

2. Sargasso Spear -It took me ages to pick up one of these, and I've hardly used it since but on principle (and I fail at Siren's Grotto)I have to keep it.

3. Fabled Firefall Gaurdian Robe -Only somewhat belongs on this list as my cleric is currently wearing it... but that's fashion over stats. At least I can sort of justify it vs. defiant (but not really). Overpriced significantly on my server, I won't be selling this until my cleric has a better robe (unlikely) and I have a monk that can say the same.

4. Treant Staff -Better in concept than in practice... I still can't part with it, and it has been banked for years.

5. Herbalist's Spade -A shovel that hits reasonably hard and roots. One of my favourite items in EQ period.

6. Large Meat Tenderizer -I have never seen another one of these, with high dex it is very evil on lowbie characters.

7. Bracer of the hidden -The first clicky I got as a drop, it was a big deal at the time. Actual utility over the years for me has been limited (and the price has dropped to be quite reasonable on these nowadays). I keep it as a reminder of a great day in EQ --It was a stat-up at the time for the character who got the drop.

Silken Whip of Ensnaring.
Truncheon of Doom.
Mask of Obtenebration.
Lute of the Howler.
Sarnak Battle Shield.
Tantors Tusk.

All the Velious no level required bad *** twink weapons.

Just some of the stuff I use to twink new alts with that I would never sell. The Silken Whip and the Truncheon my Warrior would never part with.

I'm a very sentimental person and I keep sets of armor I should have vendored / tributed long ago. Umbral from Plane of Fear, quested Darkforge, Skyshrine no drop armor with "velious textures", I have it all banked. I would have paid for more bank space but somewhere between Ykesha and now they added more slots (thanks!)

There is only one piece of gear I need, must have, can't play without and that's my Circlet of Shadow.

You could offer me a million plat for it today and I would politely decline. Nothing makes the game more fun that this.

Luminescent Staff was the best item I ever had when my druid was young and quad-kiting was his path to fame, fortune and levels! Slow-casting compared to my own spells but invaluable when I ran OOM mid-quad, which happened often!

I'd link the thing if I could figure out how ya insert links into Allak posts...

A nice way to handle epics would have been to make them scale like 'recommended level' gear to a point where they could expect you to start the next epic (1.5, 2.0)

That way you could have used your epic 1.0 from level 60 to level 70 (or whenever appropriate) then started the next upgrade quest.

As it is, I can easily buy a better weapon in the bazaar at level 60. That's just not right. Epics should have more value than nostalgia.

My problem is not with the items I can sell or resell but with the “No Drop” items.
Example J Boots my level 73 Ranger with the AA’s maxed out in run speed still keeps them for the instant clickie….even though by the time I found them in my backpack, equip them and click on the boots, I could cast the spell…lol…..It would kill me to come to the realization that I have out grown them and need to “DELETE” them. Oh that word hurts my ears. Even hurts my fingers to type it.
In my bank, completely filled with Trader Satchels with the maxed number slots, are all filled with Not used, Lore or No drop items, that I will never use, Sitting there because I can not bring my finger to click on the delete button <sob, cry, sniff>
Would be nice if SoE had it in their heart to at least let us turn in our “No Drop” items in for Tribute. Not a lot of points but something. I think I would be psychologically better and would not have to use the dreaded Delete Button.

I just found 3 crushbone belts on my troll shaman. Waiting to do some faction work i guess.

Also the old cultural armor

Vinney you can click j boots from an open inventory slot. No need to put them on. Unless you are a purist.
I had them but deleted them on Jonwin when I got the fabled version. I still have ghoulbane on both paladins as well.

Jonwin LOL you have more fortitude then me…. I break out in a sweat. My finger starts to tremble and there is like a force-field around by delete tab. Yes on J-Boots, but I don’t have an open inventory slot. That would mean I would be limited by 10 less slots to pick up more items I can not delete or squirm to sell to NPC….lol

It is not really fortitude, its having 8 toons with almost all bank slots full of ts junk just in case i start doing it. Winjon is a gnome paladin just because of tinkering. May even do it one day.
Added items lying around.
Leather padding,
lots of acrylia, magnetized armor,
halfling cultural armor, pok ornate armor molds.

I did hold onto my 6th coldain shawl for the longet time as well.

Things I still have, but don't really use:

JBoots
Whistling Fists

I have never seen anyone else with the Fists. I'm quite sure many have done this endless &*^^&%^ quest, but the only one I've ever seen in game are on my monk.

Yeah, I would never destroy those Fists either. Very rare and a very challenging quest, especially back in the day.

I have 3 toons that have the neck that's quested from the drop off Aten Ha Ra in Vex Thal. Once upon a time the best neck item in the game. Long since been improved upon many times but I can't bring myself to destroy that item, given all the work my guild did just to get flagged for Vex Thal.

What EQ needs to provide players is yet more bank space---OR allow moving no drop stuff to an alt!

Unfortunately, the ability to move NO DROP items to an alt without any limits would cause horrible twinking problems. A possible workaround would be to allow the creation of a "banker" character that you could move NO DROP items to.

It would require adding another character slot and imposing restrictions on the character (can't leave the Bazaar/POK/GL/GH, perhaps?), but it may be easier to implement than various other solutions that have been proposed over the years.

Immersion may suffer, but there may be ways around it as well. It would also mean effectively admitting that bank storage is horribly broken, but does SOE really care about losing face this late in the game?

The answer is to gird your loins and do the delete. If you cant really stand to delete it then you really don't need the space.
Either that or send me your account info and a list of items you want deleted and Jonwin's specialized delete service will do the job for you. My motto is "With cheapness and dispatch!"

I actually went through several toon banks and cleared out the junk. Juthak (the Monk with the Fists) had 1/3 of his bank spaces filled with nodrop quest items, mostly for quests he'll never do or can't do; just stuff I gathered along the way and banked in case he needed it. Turns out most was worthless/pointless so I tossed it. Smiley: lol

I carry the fists as occasionaly when I'm unbuffed as they make a small positive difference.

Also, it's a bit of an ego boost to have someone ask to link them and when they ask "What mob drops that?" I get to laugh and explain what a "Quest" really is.

Heh!

I, too, have a Large Meat Tenderizer somewhere from the pre-DoN events (I think...or was it Ykesha? I can never remember). I think it's on my pally mule in the bazaar.

The other two items are a Girdle of the Fearless Guardian and the Pendant of the Fearless Guardian. Artifact, Attunable, but tradeable (until worn).

Both have never been worn, and are sitting in my bankspace. Not gathering dust, mind you, but definitely kept polished and shiny.

Hmm
items I've acquired through friends that I value to much to sell:

Blade of Truth/Fabled Blade of Truth https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=67293(I" title="https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=11406/https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=67293(I" rel="external nofollow">https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=11406/https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=67293(I haven't really got these..I hope to this year though! Both as a trophy and just as a weapon thats always been something of a legend I'd always like to own, something that just reeks of sweetnes, I mean..Geez I want them :S lol)

Blade of Forgotten Faith, https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=32939 (Most recent, got from a PuG run, it was going to rot :S)

Dawncaller, Blade of Morning https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=6494 (Old guild ran it one day, was really fun :D)

Worker Sledgehammer https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=473 (Guild got together to get one for all the guild, interesting time)

Vyledorinajirnak the Sea's Justice https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=25376 (Great for when soloing :D)

Crown of the Tempest Guard https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16176
(Was a huge pain to grind for the rep, but it seemed like a better idea then the ring wars lol)

And the 50+ Fabled I've stashed away through the years, I know there are peeps that have a ton more, but I've had a lot of fun trying to obtain them, from the silly ones like the Fabled Cloth Cap to my favorite Fabled Fippy's Paw :D
and Fabled Ghoul Bane which was my first fabled that got me into collecting them (Of course few, save really one, are raid drops, most are group items that were really fun to get, meeting nice people).

I know its supposed to be back in the day but, I always liked the weapons/items I've linked, and hope I don't get to /flamed for posting the BoFF even though I keep it equipped as a weapon.
