SOD Progression Help

Hello everyone,
I am needing some guidence with starting SOD progression for the first time. I understand and have read the progression listing on Alla, but have a few questions. Any information will help.

1. Do I need to complete all 6 quests in OG to complete the first theme, and them choose another theme and complete all listed ones to gain access to Void B?

I had heard you only need 2 or 3 quests to progess, can someone please clarify?

OR,

Is a theme just the series that each NPC gives? For example: the 1st NPC in OG has 2 quests ... is that 1 theme? or is the entire OG 1 theme?

A little confused, any help will be appreciated.

Also you don't ahve to do the themes in order. Though if you are just starting out and need to gear up then doing them in order makes sense.

When people refer to "missions you don't have to do" they are talking about the sub missions needed to even request another mission you do need to do. For example if you have someone else requesting the missions in your group that has already done the sub missions then you don't ever need to do the sub missions unless you want to request that mission in the future.
