Returning newbie - "technical" questionsFollow

So finally it seems I can return to eq! It's been a few years sincce I played and I just miss it too much ... but I have a few questions and hope you guys can help me out please:

1/ If I buy SoD or Undefoot, will I be able to access all prior expansions too? Or do I need to buy them all?

2/ I used to play on Solusek Ro server and it used to have a big european community. I see the server is merged into Bristle. Does Bristle now have a fairly strong european (german) community?

3/ I still have the data for my main account. It shouldn't be a problem to reactivate it. I used to have a box-account - and I forgot everything about it: account name, password, even the e-mail-address i used. BUT: The main character on the account has almost the same name as my main (only 1 letter is different) and the account was paid from the same credit card ... so it is obviously "my" account. Will SOE send me details on that account by chance? Whom shall I contact?

Thanks for your thoughts/help!

EDIT: One other thing: How do potion belts work? From my old raiding days I have a 41% (I believe) haste item ... will it work as a potion belt or do I need a different belt so it can carry potions?

Potion "belts" aren't real belts at all in that they don't take up your waist slot. Rather, hit (I believe) Control+P and a box will pop up with a couple slots in it. You can place potions into those slots and access them there rather than needing to place them into a top level inventory slot. This will make them more easily accessible during fights which is helpful if it's a healing potion or other time-sensitive potion.

1. As jonnypanic stated, yes, you will get access to all of the previous expansions. Also, you should get all of the /claim rewards from those expansions as well. Once you activate the expansion and you log into the game, type /claim, and see what you have available.

Also, I don't know if it is expansion related, but once in game click on the oversized EQ button and select LoN (Legends of Norrath card game). You want to go in there and open all of the free packs that you were given at a shot of in game items. These items range from illusions, titles, clickies, and weapon graphics.

For the potion belt, only potions (or items tagged as potion belt enabled) can go in the slots. I think the default is Shift-P. All that it does is open another window where you can drag your potions on to it. It is a nice handy way to have access to your potions instead of having to search through your bags and grabbing one. Also, you can drink the potion by clicking on it instead of dragging it to an open inventory space to click it.

I play on Bristlebane (Solusek Ro).

I wonder if you used to be a member of Magna Charta? That guild jumped to another server, a year or so ago. (Think they went to Antonious Bayle)

There are still some Euro players here, but not as many as there used to be.

Thanks all for the support!!

I wasn't in MC, but in another german raid guild ... humm, how much is a server move thse days?

And while I am thinking about it: my secondary account has a lvl 60 chanter as main (no special equipment, let alone epic, aa or so) ... it is actually worth trying to undust him, or shall I simply start new? How long would it take me to get a toon to lvl 60 approx? And could I goblin-shroud my main to accompany the new secondary and lvl up and get aa-exp also for the main?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Exp rate varies, but with some cash to get some descent twink gear, shouldn't take too long to get to 60.

A couple of threads about leveling:

With mercenaries it's even easier. Think I've only once tried to level a toon fast, and that was my first War, who went from around 18 to 50s in a single day, totally solo (before mercenaries), just doing cultural armor every 20 levels and using potions. You can go even faster with a good power leveler, or slower and enjoy the old game.

As far as shroud experience, it's not so great. You can do it, and there is a penalty even if you shroud to the exact same level you are unshrouded, and the further you shroud down, the less the experience will be. There are lots of threads about how it used to be great, before they noticed that it wasn't scaling, and you could shroud down to 10th level, get killer buffs, and slaughter places, and rake in the exp. But you can do it, and get some practice at boxing at the same time.

Once you get your new toon to the minimum level to group with your old main, the experience will go pretty fast for a while. Slaughtering greens and light blues to your main, will be huge experience for the newer toon.

Refer to group level chart:

I am still into a few technical matters :-(
- Can I buy a boxed edition of SoD or Underfoot? I can't seem to find any ...
- Can I buy the free realmy game-card to upload "station cash" to pay a character transfer, a subscription and possibly a download of underfoot??

Thanks again!

There is no boxed edition of SoD or Underfoot. You have to buy them online via the SOE Station Store or a place like Steam or Direct2Drive. You can keep any eye on those other sites. Steam had a sale over Christmas where they sold SoD for 5 bucks. That was a good deal. Maybe they'll have another sale coming soon, I don't know.

Station Cash is generic. You can use it for any game. They just use the FR character to try and get kids to buy them basically. Higher impulse when your 6 year old is asking for a $5 card with a cartoon fox on it, since they know it's for FR (mine does anyway.)
