NPC in Commonlands?Follow

There is an NPC named Nalla in the Commonlands just before the trees start that mentions her lost brother's armor. Any info on this possible quest? The text brackets lead me nowhere.

Looking here in Alla's mob listing by zone, I couldn't find any NPC named Nalla for EQ1. The closest I could find is a Nallar in Neriak 3rd Gate.

[Sun Feb 28 13:38:15 2010] Your Location is 191.70, -3494.19, 13.49
[Sun Feb 28 13:38:18 2010] You say, 'Hail, Nalla'
[Sun Feb 28 13:38:18 2010] Nalla stops sobbing and looks up at you with a tear-streaked face. 'Oh, hello there, stranger,' she says sofly. 'Please forgive me for being in such a state. I have done something terrible, and my [brother] will surely never forgive m-' She breaks off in another sob.
[Sun Feb 28 13:38:26 2010] You say, 'your brother?'
[Sun Feb 28 13:38:26 2010] Nalla sighs and wrings her hands. 'My brother Darrin. He's always been so kind to me. He knew I wanted to go out on an adventure, so he loaned me some of his armor and items.' Her lip quivers as though she is going to cry again. 'But I was ambushed by some [orcs] out here and they took it all! I barely got away!' She bursts into tears. 'What will I tell him?'
[Sun Feb 28 13:38:34 2010] You say, 'what orcs?'
[Sun Feb 28 13:38:34 2010] Nalla sniffles. 'They called themselves the Clan of Grahzkel, though they didn't seem to be too numerous. They laughed and jeered when I got away, saying they'd be back.' Her eyes dart around for a moment, then she sighs. 'I feel so horrible about those items,' she whispers. 'They were special to my brother because they reminded him of his adventures, but they weren't very strong. So the orcs probably just destroyed them. I wish I could replace them, but I don't know where he found them all.' She sobs again.
[Sun Feb 28 13:39:03 2010] You say, 'what items'

With that dialog, I would suggest "found them" or "replace them" as the trigger text.

I was curious and happened to be there on a level 8 character.

I used the phrase, "I will help you replace them" and she told me that I was more suited to beetle slaying.

So.. I logged on another character and finished the string.

[Sun Feb 28 04:24:55 2010] Nalla stares at you. 'You mean it? You would really help me? I'm afraid I would have very little to pay you. Are you certain about this?'

[Sun Feb 28 04:25:04 2010] You say, 'I am certain.'
[Sun Feb 28 04:25:04 2010] Nalla stops sobbing and smiles. 'This is truly kind of you. Sorick, is it? I never met a Iksar so nice as you on my journeys.' She glances around, picks up a large ornate box, and hands it to you. 'This is the box where he kept it all. I think I can remember everything, if you are ready?'

[Sun Feb 28 04:25:37 2010] You say, 'I am ready.'
[Sun Feb 28 04:25:38 2010] Nalla taps her fingers as she thinks. 'Let me see. Some Dusty Rusted Shackles and Rotbone Sleeves, a Dulled Silver Paineel Earring, a Sebilite Scale Mantle, some Jarsath Scale Boots, a Burnished Wooden Stave, Phase Spider Blood, and... there was one more.' She purses her lips. 'Oh yes! A Centi Longsword.' She shakes her head a bit. 'I wish I could help you with more directions, but I'm afraid he got them all long before I was old enough to go out with him. I hope you can find them all.' She smiles again. 'Good luck! I really can't thank you enough for doing this.'

An old quest? New quest in old zones? Not sure, but I have yet to complete it myself. Too sleepy for now to go gather up the items.

Was kind of cool to get the response though. I'm guessing the reward won't be much, but I plan on finishing it all the same.

lol please do finish it, ide love to find out what the reward is.. it looks like a new(ish) quest in an old zone.. i wonder if there are many more like it... i wonder if it was added in when they redid the zone? im pretty sure all of those items were in game when the zone makeover happened, so that would totally make sence..

I started this last night and am nearly done with it, will let you know how it finishes in an hour or so.

EDIT:

Nalla gasps as she peers inside the box. 'Oh, thank you so much!' she exclaims. 'I don't know how you could have found it all!' Suddenly she drops the chest and screams. 'The orcs! They are back!'
You gain experience!!

Nalla despawns and for a few minutes nothing happens then A Snarling Orc spawns in her place. He cannot be targeted and depops after 30 seconds and a mean orc and viciour orc spawn.

a mean orc says 'The Clan of Grahzkel will crush you!'
a vicious orc says 'The Clan of Grahzkel will crush you!'

Mean orc dropped a Bend Sword and 7 platinum, 10 gold, 8 silver and 1 copper
Vicious orc a Cracked Staff and 7 gold, 6 silver and 15 copper

After a bit an angry orc spawns and attacks, he dropped Twisted Armor and 5 platinum, 8 gold, 7 silver and 12 copper

I waited for about 15 min but no other orcs spawned and Nalla didn’t either

Well I finished the quest, and my reward?
so little AA xp at 83 that it didnt even move my bar,
2-3 lvl 1 items which dropped of subsequently spawning orcs (3) and about 20PP give or take

For the time, effort and level you need to be this quests is totally absurd.

Now I remember why I stopped doing quests unless I knew in advance the reward. That's just totally ridiculous... Karnor's to Dragon Necropolis, for 20 plat. The Dulled Silver Paineel Earring vendors for 25 plat.

I tried to get a few of the pieces. Only had 2 drop so far, but after seeing the final result I'm not going to be spending much time on it.

I'll still probably finish it as it probably hasn't ever been completed on many servers and it's rather funny to slaughter a whole dungeon in a couple pulls.

Considering the quest NPC is bald, I'm wondering if it's a quest that was never really finished, but somehow made it to live.

Symbius, yes my thought too.

The reward wouldn't have been uber seeing it looks like a luclin era quest, but a little xp, 20 pp and 2 insane drops which are of worse quality then what you had in? Very bad indeed.

Still was fun doing a quest no one knew anything about

Finished this as well just now and it went the same way for me.

Bent Armor, Twisted Sword and a Cracked Staff... with the first orc not being able to target and despawning.

Seems like a named should spawn or maybe there's more and those 2 drops need to be taken to someone else.

I'm wondering if this "Darrin" is anywhere.

Hmm good idea, sounds like a ranger needs to go and do some checking.
