Preparing for the server mergesFollow

For those of you that don't read the SOE forums here is a link for making the transfer easier.

Also make sure you don't have more than the allotted characters for the spots you have if you have characters on both servers.

Clear your shared bank. Even if you don't have characters on both servers it is still would be a good idea.



Feel free to add anything that I may have missed. The more information the better.

I really hope things go smoothly and I can't wait to meet some new friends.

EDIT: () = As much as I could find on previous mergers (mostly from 2005).

Other things to consider:
Renaming your UI_charname_server.INI, BZR_charname_server.INI, and charname_server.INi in the base EQ directory from your old sever name to the new one, as well as the following files in your UserData directory: ABILITIES_charname_server.INI AT_set_charname_server.INI, CJ_charname_server.HDR, CJ_charname_server.TXT, and GN_charname_server.TXT to the new server name.

Thanks Jophiel. Was that sometime other than early summer 2005? I only found two sets of mergers, one in early 2005 for the Zek (PvP) servers, then the others late spring / early summer of 2005 as listed, not including the recent one.

I'll put some dates in later on as well.

Kane Bayle merged into AB at the same time as the Povar-Morden Rasp merge as I had characters on both and it was my first experience of the dreaded "x"

This time they have really annoyed me with the name changes. Yes there was someone with the same name on Quellious but they hadn't logged in for over 4 years (according to EQPlayers) and its my active character that gets changed

But only three characters out of 21 suffering that way is I suppose lucky. Now I have to find new names in keeping with the guild theme.
