Some of us do not laugh at or taunt Melindaria. In reality for this game, like most rants on either side, it is a tempest in a teapot.

It's not what the Alla boards are about either. It's not like anyone on Vulak is forced to be guilded or around someone else all the time. Posting anti-whoever stuff here is very pointless.

I've grouped with Mel on Vulak in Mistmoore. As group leader Mel ran a tight ship --was very in charge. It was a very productive run in a camp I wasn't familiar with (some room with a paladin drop in it).

I've got some newb armor on now (which Mel is somewhat on record about [heh]) so maybe I don't get to group again for a few expansions but I'm not against Mel or the <Golden Age> folk. It's no different then if someone can't stand erudite necromancers that like to group... they don't have to group with me, and can always put me on ignore if they don't like my rare ooc.

EDIT: So I ended up grouping with Mel today in Ocean of Tears. Solid 2 hours of dead goblins and sweet xp. No issues over my gear selection. Ironic how things work out (don't see a person online for weeks, reply to post...)

yes we are sticking to this.

we dont have anything against non classic but we do make a stand on anything sony adds after the launch of the server which is out of era eg whether it be luclin noobie stuff, mercs next week, vah shir in kuanrk and frogloks in velious or monty hall kiddy iksar pre kunark

anythign which was here when server was online is fine, anythign which is added afterwards with no communication or vote which is Op and attrociously out of era we wont be bought by, even though it may benefit us.

now 80 of us and level spread is 1 to 50, we dont push people into levelling, we dont push people into playign at a certain time or a certain class, anyone at all is accepted as long as u behave well, have a good name and have ethics. anythign else isnt important, we do have long term goals like planes and raids but atm we just wnat to expand and be here to stay, to confound all who stood against us.,

there seems to be still a very small nugget of nasty childish abusive appallingly behaved 'players' who still seem threatened by anyone who cant be bought be sony, they have gone nuclear since they have realised after 2 weeks of intensive perosnal abuse. that I have always been active very loud and proud, and made my guild a success by sheer strength of will and unyielding (high elf lawful good paladin ) ethics.

id like to dispell the myth that we are secular. we grp with anyone whatever their gear make up, we appreciate freindly sensible mature players and value them above all else except our guild principles. good decent mature playres are hard to find. i know and gladly accept that being unable to be bought, abused, bullied, or barracked and still standing tall is anathema to a minority of mindless Pramforge kiddies. W have great relationships with most guilds, and i myself am very happy with knowing and have good positive realtionships with the majority of the active people on our server.

i dont hate the kids who wage this abuisve war agaisnt me i prefer to be flattered, they are obsessed by The Mel, and shall be known as; Mellites.

The snip cracked me up...

Overall response was measured and mature --not easy to do when you see a personal attack on yourself in a thread. /rated up.

Revised post to be a bit more clear:

Newbie weapons and armor aren't OP, even before the newbie weapons were nerfed. You could easily sell junk like spider silks and pelts to other players and get a BALS, BABS, FFBLS, EBM, or something like that on the cheap by the time you can complete the quests. Now with the nerfed newbie weapons, they're basically not even worth doing. Not even for someone starting fresh. Not with how dirt cheap better weapons are in Commonlands.

The newbie armor is 80% trash with useless stats. There are only a handful of genuinely good pieces, like the Troll Shaman bracers or the Dark Elf helm. Some sets are 100% trash, like the Kelethin Druid set. Sure, it killed the banded armor market, but it was already dead before the newbie armor, when you could buy a full set of blackened alloy for as much as it took to buy a full set of banded. Assuming you weren't just given a set by passerbys, which happened to me on two melee characters. I've since returned the favor 10x over.

Mel, I comprehend the basic idea behind your guild, but the truth is you kinda misrepresent your members. You seemed to take glee in the newbie weapon nerfs, mocking other players for being disappointed that their (often considerable, some of the quests -suck-) effort was all for naught. That, and your penchant for calling anyone with the newbie armor "noobs" (don't pretend there isn't a difference between "newbie" and "noob") among other, less pleasant things...

Well, it just shows poorly on you and - by relation - your guild. I'm sure there are lots of nice players in your guild. I'm sure you're a nice person to people out of general or newplayers chat. But frankly you're doing a lot of harm to your guild when you insult other people for questing for gear that's (sometimes) not really even worth the effort to quest.

Just relax, advertise your guild, drop the "noob" (and less pleasant) comments, and just enjoy the game without looking down on others. That's just my friendly advice.

above thread was utter nonsense and totally unjustified
i call it noob armour because its for noobie players, newbie noobie all same to me, no slight intended. i dont really care what peopel wear, what i care about is sony adding out of time things with no warning or vote. if they bring in mercs next week, will you gte one? i will not. not ever got one in 11 years, will not ever.

Now 150 in my Guild, 40 to 75 on every single day, all levs 1 to 50 represented.
guild made a success by my efforts willpower and willingness to help ppl of all persuasions ain all zones every day,
sounds a far cry from the misrepresentation posted above.

Recruiting friendly, decent, well-mannered, sensible mature team players,
if u wish to join us pst me in game,
if u dont wish to join us dont post

safe travels.

The Mel

This gets interesting then... since if you keep your numbers active and vote-eligible it is conceivable that "one guild could rule them all" in respects not unlocking Velious right away, nor allowing velious to be rushed through.
