Been away, Thinking about returning.Follow

#1 Jun 13 2011 at 4:08 PM Rating: Decent
So I read through the sticky and did not see an answer to a couple of my questions. I am thinking about returning to EQ/EQ2. I will probably pay for the station pass and get access to all the games so if/when the EQ3/EQ-Next comes out that might get added.

Is there a place I can go to read what all has changed over time? I don't really care if x quests changed, xx recipes added, or what spells have been change to affect mobs. I do have a question about the bags. What is the maximum amount of slots that you can have for bags? I know with EQ II when I played I just got my STR up and got like 36 slot boxes or what ever was the max at the time.

Also I used to play on the Firona Vie server, between my two accounts I had like 5 or 6 toons at 55+. Another server or two I have toons on as well but I don't mind starting over. Anyone recommend a decent server?

Oh yeah I played off an on for 7 years, I think I have 6.5 or 7 years active accounts. Only problem is I think I have used all my veterans rewards. :(

They've made changes to FV server of late... so population there has gone up. In brief: free one-way moves onto the server, more character slots there, xp bonus on the server.

Depending on when you quit, the biggest changes are probably mercenaries and player housing. They've added some bigger slot bags but I think it's been carefully done (so you don't have 8 x max slot right away). I have two bags with more than 10-slot capacity atm.

If you quit before the Serpent's Spine expansion you've got a new race (drakkin) with new zones to go 1-75 in (whether you are Drakkin or not). Out of Combat regen was added so downtime is way less outside of trying to solo xp in an old raid zone where the timers kick in on the regen.

Welcome back.

Patch Notes for expansions:

Bags: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=1&mid=1274313531160609034&page=1 20 slots appears to be the largest in EQ1 at the moment. You'll have to look at the eq2 section of Zam to see about more detailed info on EQ2, but last I remember, was 48 slot containers, but I recall someone mentioning 72, but I haven't kept up with EQ2 for years.

  • 5 years since last replay-from-start expansion... how the time flies. I really hope they revisit the good points of TSS soon.

Read the sticky threads at the top of the forum here. Then re read them. If you want to start over the Vulak Aerr time locked progression server will activate Kunark in 6 days.
Lots of folks will be rolling Iksars.

Unless he's interested in Marketplace items (which you have to pay for with real money), the biggest bags now are the 32 slot bags. Which are $25 a pop, which is too expensive for me. But that's another discussion. =)

TSS was my favorite expansion, out of all of them. I miss those days.
