what you can do also, is to create your own ( and i suck on computer ).
go to www.eqinterface.com
make a new folder on your desktop (right click/new/folder ) ,name it whatever u want.
when at eqinterface, you can see the menu on the left side.
downloads+ / interface pieces.
then you can look at the ""single file you like the most"" and save them in the folder you created on your desktop...
doing this is when there is a patch and they change some ui's and your ui don't work anymore,VERY ANNOYING.
and don't want to always rely on others to "FIX" your UI.
well all i have to do is to go to where our EQ is located in our computer :
my computer / C: / program file / everquest / uifile....make a new file in there: right click/new/folder.
and go to the default ui who is already there (copy and paste it to the new ui folder you just did ) and go to where you saved your ui files you have found at eqinterface and copy them to your new ui u made (usually work all time ).....in the last 25+ times that i had to change my UI since i play EQ,i got it not work once and had to find wich one from the one i had saved into my computer who was not working (can do this by creating a new ui folder/copy-paste default ui / and try each ui u have saved from your saved folder on desktop,so you can see wich one was not working (only happened once for me and was like 4 years ago)................
the one i like the most (and work )from www.eqinterface.com / download+ / interface pieces are :
from spell gems: old default spell and buff icon.
from map: mod-mapview-small (smaller map ).
from spell book: sars 4 spellbook v1.0
from 3d target ring: defiant target ring (can find at 6th page i think ).
from player window: ienamar's player window.
from spall bar: small vertical 12 slot spell bar (i play since a long time and know wich spell icon look like so i didn't had to choose one with names on it ).
from miscellaneous: wL mini potion belt
from miscellaneous: tiny merc window with title bar
from hot key: i found mine from a complete set a player made ( think it was lodi dodi, and i opened his UI and had to find where the EQUI_HotButtonWnd XML document is at (right click and copy ).
cover pretty much all your need here and when there is a patch and your ui don't work or missing some new info.you just have to go where you saved your ui files on desktop/copy~paste them in your new ui folder you made ),and should work 99% of time.(don't forget to copy the default ui before ).
now,if you don't like a single interface piece and want to change it (to try ),keep the one you made, and go to the EQ folder/uifile/create a new folder/name it (can be testing ect )/copy the one you had and change the only interface piece (or more) you want to change or try...if you don't like it you just have to delete it and try again with another one you might like more..........the other files mising will be added when you play(enter the game ).
doing this is you will always have your "own" UI.....i know some players who were playing with the full one made by players and had to find a completely different one since the author was not playing anymore and didn 't update it or took several weeks to get the updating one.
usually take me 2 min to get it work again since i got all mine saved into the desktop (copy~paste)in the new folder i made.(new folder/copy~paste default in it and copy the saved one )
PS: i always have a red text entering the game saying me,some ui piece "MIGHT" not work bla bla ect.but don't affect the game at all.
and if they doing a patch and your ui don't work anymore and you can't enter the game, just go to your EQ folder/uifile/the one you are using and delete it,and it will load you into the game with the default one,or create another one put the saved one in (with the new copy~paste of the default it and play EQ. )...
