Fellowships: how do they work?Follow

Hello, I'm a returning player from many years ago and was wondering exactly how Fellowships work and what it takes to create one? I played Vanguard a long time ago as well and was familiar with their XP sharing deal, but I was wondering how it works with EQ?

Does it take a certain amount of people to start a fellowship? If so, how many?

Are there any restrictions on creating one? Lvl span, etc?

Could I theoretically be in a fellowship with other characters on the same account; essentially fellowshipping my own characters? Thanks in advance!

See Randall of the Fellows to learn about them, and the basics of how they work. Probably not noted there is the recent change that allows adding players while not near Randall. I think you still have to be near him to create one though?

See Fellow Wyllie for supplies needed to create a campfire. The names give a decent clue as to what benefits you get from them. EDIT: One of my favorites for pre-raid buffing is to use the extended enhancement one along with a descent worn extended enhancement item (Mag summoned one if on a toon that doesn't have one), to get cast the longest buffs.

This seems like a good overall guide: http://everquest.wikispaces.com/Fellowships

Related are Guild Banners.

Hope this helps some.

EDIT: I hadn't read the patch notes yet, and I guess I could of specifically answered your questions.

Not much really to tell, other than what's in the patch notes atm.

None that I'm aware, but I'd assume the XP sharing has the same limits as normal group xp level span.

Yes, join a fellowship or have someone create one, so you are not the fellowship leader, than have them invite the alts.

Thank you for a timely question (and Yther for answering it) I've been playing again for a while and wasn't up to speed on all of this either. The new xp-sharing will likely be a useful tool with my brother.
