Hello,

I am playing a necro on fippy, the prog server. I loved the ivy etched armor quests for rangers back when kunark was new, i was wondering if each class has sets like this available to them, or was that a ranger only thing, and if there are, what is the necro stuff called?

Not exactly. INT casters had a few armor bits available and then some misc gear such as focus items or Primary/Secondary things. Check out the quest list for the Temple of Solusek Ro and look for the Necromancer stuff.

The Ivy-etched "quest model" wasn't really applied to much else if I recall correctly.

Caster quested gear of the whole-set variety really is the Velious quest model of "piece from this zone and piece from this zone given to this npc = this part. With the better pieces coming from raid zones, and all requiring the faction". Most did Coldain Dwarf first.

Luclin quested armor... I am drawing a blank as the Twilight Sea stuff was completely ignored by most people (wasn't worth the effort for the level/time needed to acquire it).

PoP came out and gave us newbie armor quests and the PoP planar which was basically the velious model without faction.

Any expac since with full armor sets in it has used some sort of faction/currency/points system with the exception of the Serpent's Spine lower level armor quests.

There's probably some specifics that could be mentioned (aside from what Jophiel said about Sol Ro armors) but defiant did kill the pursuit of most under level 75 gear. I understand doing it for the sake of the quest though. So good luck whatever you are chasing.

Hadn't seen this sig yet... made me smile.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves hobbits and orcs.

Jophiel's sig as of this posting date

I believe the chain/plate types all had old world quest armor. Totemic for Shamans, Crafted for Warriors, Lambent for Bards, Clerics had some type with individually named bits ("Greaves of Piety" or whatever), etc. Rogues were a little different as their armor, Ravenscale, was a straight mob drop in Temple of Cazic-Thule. For the most part, it wasn't great since it tried to balance stats so you'd have warrior +INT gear and the like.

Paladins had the armor of ro quests. Think the quest npcs for those are in rathe mountains. I don't remember exactly what was required but I know you had to do a quest for a "mold" for each piece and you had to combine enchanted plat bars and some other items to make a metal to combine with the mold.
