Weekend Update - August 29th EditionFollow

#1 Aug 29 2011 at 9:24 AM Rating: Excellent

Well, what an interesting weekend. Got a little playing time in on Saturday. Camped Hill Giants in Rathe a bit (they give me XP still) and spent a bit of time in West Karana with Goonda (he still doesn't want to drop my bracelet!).

Sunday, I didn't get anywhere near the computer, or anything else that runs on power. We lost power around 11:30 PM on Saturday and it didn't come back until about 11:00 PM on Sunday. Sitting for nearly 23 hours with no power really sucked. Power did go back out like 30 minutes after it came on, but was only out for another ~20 minutes, give or take.

Quite a bit of flooding in the area. Some peope have quite a bit of water in their basements. My buddy had a tree fall from his yard and damaged his neighbors house pretty significanlty (I haven't seen the pics yet, but he said it's bad.) Did check my basement though, and it was dry; no signs of water so that was a relief.

Because of the flooding and stuff, work is closed today (though I was supposed to be on vacation anyway. So I guess I don't use a vacation day.) Supposed to be off tomorrow and Wednesday too (wife is away, I'm playing Mr. Mom.)

Good luck with the Mr. Mom gig.

That was all I had to do, to remember that I was never going to be my Wife's equal in the Mothering department.

EQ-wise no play-time but spending some excellent and quality time with the mother of my now adult (thank God! I was sure this time in our lives would never get here ;-)) children...

It will be fine. Older one is 16, so she doesn't even want to look at me, let alone interact (unless she needs either a) money or b) a ride somewhere.) Little one is 7, so she doesn't need a lot of supervision to play in her room or watch TV or something.

Playing EQ now. Killing that dang ogre in West Karana for the Chipped Bone Bracelet. Nothing yet. Feel like taking a break, but I hate to do that since I got the camp broken.

Hope everyone else came thru the storm OK.

Nothing too groundbreaking in EQ this weekend. Helped a lower level guildie to a nice chunk of AAs and upgrades with tier 1 HoT missions. Also ran the same guildie through the Warrens Progression for a tier 5 mercenary. It's becoming amusingly trivial compared to the challenge it originally was, Murdunk's Last Stand in particular.

Non EQ gaming was pretty much limited to playing Bomberman Ultra on the PS3, though sadly it gets boring fast playing it solo. The worst part is its mechanic for jumping into a quick online game, possibly the most frustrating design I've ever seen. Every time a person joins a room it de-confirms your status of being ready to start the game and you have to do it again, needless to say this makes it where one AFK person will make it impossible to get the game to actually start. Even without that you'll still find yourself spamming the X button constantly as people come/go, just pleading for the game to start.

No eq and after 1040 PM Eastern no power until 8 PM EDT Monday. No phone until Tuesday and no web until this afternoon.
No eq at all still. May start some this weekend. I have Fri to Monday off.
Tree from neighbors back yard fell onto my power lines, and the lines of the next two houses down from me. Thank god it wasnt my big tree. A little water in parts of the basement. But that is drying out on its own.

Thank goodness it wasn't worse Jon. Could have hit the house, or the car. Glad to hear you came thru it OK.

It wasnt going to hit the car. I was smart enough to park it on a street with very few trees on it. If it had hit the house it would have helped me get the new roof I need. But all in all yes I was very lucky not to have the house damaged.
Thanks
