My sweet toon is a 90 Necro, only 6k aa..../sly smile. Of course, that is where I spend alot of time grinding aa due to my short amt. of playing time.

I have seen in past thereds hill giants are good for plat. Is there a better place? I need to build up, :-) Secondary, I have 700 resist, most aa can deliver. What can I do to attain more resist? Heck, while asking, are there any other adventures a lil Necro can do to get items? Just throwing it out there....I give a big ty for any replys that can help me drive on in the world of EQ.

I think you can gather more plat in going to crypt of decay or to the farm and doing mass killings than waiting on random spawns of Hill giants. Some of the drops in COD are good for shaman alchemy and can easily sell in the bazaar for 10 plat each, actually more if you can afford to wait as a seller.

I can't imagine how someone could play any class to 90 and 6k aa's without knowing the questions you are asking. Sorry I don't mean to be rude, but come on.

If mass killing is your preferred farming method... as a level 90 just about any part of TSS expac will generate more plat per hour than the Hill Giants in Rathe. TSS requires learning which of the trash loots are worth holding to sell though.

For example, in the 50-60 range, Goru'kar Mesa has the bears, wolves and spiders that are pretty easy to farm (you can kill them before that... but we are talking efficient plat farming). Off the wolves you really only want to bother with "pancreas" drop, for the bears it is the one kind of tooth (pearlescent if I recall correctly --actually now I am thinking "shiny").

Higher level TSS zones offer the same opportunity.

I'd also be shocked to find out some newer content wasn't even better, since they tend to up the ante.

I'm gonna guess that that is exactly the point jmeajh was making.

To be fair the resists question is a valid one. Nowadays you can get to 90 and max aa's very quickly especially if you box or are in an active guild. Most people know nothing about the mpg trials or don progression.

The plat one is suspicious though. At 90 you should have done at least some xping in HoT zones where vendor loot is 15-30 pp and gems are insanely common. It's prety easy to make 5k doing a lesson burn in one of the courtyards.

If one is farming Hill Giants, then I recommend the Sand Giants in So Ro as they drop decent plat/farm items. I think they're a bit higher level (but at 90 that's not an issue, especially for these mobs...lol). I prefer them to Hill Giants because some of the HG farming items take up a lot of inventory space and don't stack. As you say, Cilrail, if one knows about the Hill Giants, then the next step up when learning farming sites over time usually includes places like the drakes in Cobalt Scar and Geodes in Crystal Caverns, both of which drop gems...and then stepping it up in the other places mentioned in the thread. I think I keep hearing that DSH is good for farming, either there or Loping Plains...can't recall as I've never played either solo.

Also, farming items that sell well in the Bazaar has been the best plat-maker for me recently. Sunshard Ore and Binding Powder are two items that are found on a lot of mobs and sell quickly for decent plat to other players.

TY for all the ideas. Concerning the player knowlege, I have played for a time....just wanting to know ideas of other players. I have not been playing for a bit, due to personal info., and want to know the "new/old info. I dont try to rip players for questions asked. But if that is your thing, your candor is noted. No, I do not know the infor on adding to resists.....due to me being retired....mostly solo when I get a chance to be on.

I appriciate the quality knowlege of all players that help. I built my necro, and grind him aa/exp with joy! Go EQ!

I really like Crypt of Decay for a quick infusion of PP off vendor fodder type loot, been a while since the last time I needed it but I believe a full clear of the zone was netting me roughly/nearly 10kpp. The mentioned bonus of some items with Bazaar value is true as well, you'll see a partial stack of Sunshard ore when clearing there.

Of course this is clearing the zone with a couple of mass pulls as a ranger, I know those massive pulls would be a little more annoying to put down as a caster.

Another bonus to the mid-range TSS zones like Goru'kar is that all of the tradeable named drops can be sold straight to a merchant for something nearing 300pp on average, and many of the named can almost always be found up.

And many of the TSS zones have a friendly merchant in them (probably some caster spell vendor since they seem to have spread them all over the zones).

EDIT - ACKKKKK!!!! I meant the WYVERNS in Cobalt Scar - NOT the Drakes. For some reason one can kill Wyverns endlessly and never get to KoS status with them. I've always left the Drakes alone.

Sorry about that.

Ok I dont want to sound like a d0uche, but at risk of doing so I will make 2 points.

1) Based upon the clumsy, forced grammar and odd usage of vocabulary exhibited in this post, it is probably a fair guess to say Mr. MichaelSBlack is not his name, unless my understanding of foreign languages has changed. My immediate thought was that this is a bought toon, purchased by a plat farming company, um, "overseas". To be honest IDK if people even CAN sell plat anymore but based upon the endless spam getting filtered in chat I would assume so.

aaaand.....

2) Really? 90 and SIX THOUSAND AA's? Due to his "short amount of playing time"? But doesn't know that HG in RM drop plat? Or where to make plat in general? I mean, Im not 90 but everyone knows plat and sell price of drops goes up as you level, but he isnt sure if theres more money farming HG's than some high level zone?

Im not normally one to rip someone, but the syntax in this guy's post sounds like every Chinese scam email I get every time I try to sell something on Craigslist. The last one was about how this guy, who was leaving tomorrow to work on an offshore oil rig which is usually out of phone contact due to bad weather, wanted to buy my dining room set sight unseen as a birthday present for his revered father (I kid you not) and he would send me a check or would PayPal me the funds if I would just tell him my PayPal and bank info. I know this isnt the same situation but Im getting the same vibe.

"I built my necro, and grind him aa/exp with joy! Go EQ!" - this is going to be my new sig

http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=10316

I average 10 k platinum a day on diamonds and other trash that drops.

Plane of fire is good to.
