Weekend Update - October 24th 2011Follow

#1 Oct 24 2011 at 7:09 AM Rating: Good
I swear, it feels like Monday comes every other day now.

This weekend, I got some playing in. Didn't do too much, but killed some undead (and ogres) in Najena with my necro. Died a lot (usually due to my own stupidity), but gained a few levels. She's almost ready to start kiting in open areas.

I wanted to play my cleric/war combo, but I didn't get around to that. Maybe next weekend.

Did some other in-game stuff too that's boring and un-interesting.

Sunday, more of the same really. Watched the Steeler game. Chatted with some friends. Declined the chance to go to the pumpkin farm for a birthday party my daughter was at.

That's about it. Next weekend, I'll spend some time cleaning up the leaves in the front, so that anyone coming to trick-or-treat doesn't trip. That always worries me. That won't take long though.

So, anyone else do something, EQ related or not?

I feel like every other day is Monday too.

Due to a pending RL move, I haven't played since mid-August...I think. So no EQ-related activities here. I have gone into SecondLife a bit more. I had some new clothes I got as gifts in a grid-wide hunt and wanted to wear them. I love time eras from Medieval, Victorian and vintage 1920's-1950's. I first put on my cute 1920's flapper outfit and went to a sim called Chicago 1920. As it happened a burlesque show was about to begin (and that's where everyone on the sim was) so, thinking it would be "true" burlesque with stripteases (emphasis on "tease") I settled in for the show. The first act was very cleverly done - a take off on "Phantom of the Opera" but instead it was "The Master of the Dance." Great music and special effects. The two female errrrr "burlesque dancers" were ok for the theme, but then the "Dance Master" joined them and....let's just say I wasn't expecting total nudity. Ok...outta there!!!!

Another evening I wore a lovely 1940's set, complete with skin and a hairstyle of the era. I went to one of my favorite jazz ballrooms. Received two IMs - one from a guy saying I looked like I had just stepped out of the 1940's and another asking if I was a **********. Smiley: eek HOW someone could see a 1940's vintage outfit and think "Domme" is beyond me. There is NOTHING in my profile that would even hint at that and people who know me well KNOW that is the LAST thing in which I would be interested!!!! Decided to leave there. Changed into a ballgown, went to another ballroom and was immediately asked to dance by a man from India. Enjoyed a very nice conversation with him.

Saturday I received a notice from the SL Virtual Kennel Club (VKC - they sell AMAZING dogs with artificial intelligence and can be "trained) that the new viewer caused a "bug" in the dogs somehow and to take them to the "vet" to take care of it. (If you're not familiar with SL or the VKC, it's too long to explain how that is done here.) I have one dog I purchased about 3 years ago, then "adopted" 2 others a year ago. Adoption is when people sell their dogs back to VKC. They are also purchased but in a different area than the "new" dogs. So I rez the first of my 2 newer dogs from inventory. He appears briefly and poofs into thin air!!!! I check with the "vet" and the database showed me only owning the first dog. ARRGGGGHHH!!!! I had the second adopted dog still in inventory but didn't want to rez it and have it poof as well until this issue was sorted out. To make a very long story somewhat shorter - I found out that "somehow" the two dogs were now owned by other people but even the creator of the dogs was at a loss as to how that could happen. Fortunately I log EVERYTHING and was able to provide the log of acquiring the two dogs. I could not get the "originals" back since they belonged to other people, but VKC took two "new" dogs of the same breeds, named them the same as the two I lost, and gave them to me. Whew!!!! (In EQ terms - this would be analogous, and approximately the same money involved, as purchasing two very expensive pieces of equipment and one day trying to put it on and it poofed, was no longer in inventory and then you found out 2 other people now owned it!!!)

After those "adventures" in SL, I went back to the RL business of packing. I forgot how long that can take, especially with breakables. I am going to sign my lease and take possession of the new apartment today, but the "big move" will not be until Friday. Between now and then I will be packing, packing, packing, pa.............
