So... I rated up Ychir for the 2007 posted FAQ thread (somehow I had forgotten to do so) and lo and behold our friendly scholar dinged sage.

Not sure if Ychir has been around lately, but certainly deserved to have a name in green text here.

I was looking at the FAQ because I finally got access to mercs today. Learned alot from the wiki, but can't seem to find out what race/class combos were offered originally (i.e., can I get an ogre cleric?). The dps mercs added later have a nice list in the wiki.

Originally, it was same races that could be real toon Warrior and Cleric could be Tank and Healer mercs, respectively. This only left out Eru for Tanks, if I remember correctly, and a whole slew of non-healer races.

Thanks, that definately matched up my in game running around. I won't bother finding all of the other races hoping for an odd ball combo (I really wanted a wood elf healer to go with my beast that uses Crown of Deceit).

Go Dark Elf they can be all types, and have good female models :) I used to stick to Halflings, since Octavia's a Hfl Dru, and I was used to Hfl being groupers. I tried other races, but like the smaller ones for mercs to keep them out of the way, but finally switched to Dark Elf, since none of my toons are Def, but they are relatively small, but big enough to be tanks to see them and target them easily, and I'm used to playing with Def groupers.

Sidenote / thoughts:
Is Hfl xp bonus related to foot hair growth rate?
Is Smellyfeet offensive? Octavia tried on many servers to get that /surname and was always rejected :-/ She tried some other hairy-related names too, that were also rejected.
At one point, all my of Hlfs had Veggieseeker as a /surname.
If EQ Next is a strong Roleplaying game, I may make a Hlf guild called, Veggieseekers :) (I personally love vegetables.)
