I have an iksar level 22 BL. I am really enjoying her, but am tired of the slow progress in finding froglock ton warrior. I gave up on the buckler quest for froglock tuk warriors ( never could get one to drop) I have been at this several days now. NOW I have collected what I need for Claw of Cub #2 & #3 but I can't get to Elder Patriarch Ixthal. I have jumped and moved forward on that ladder until my knees are purple from falling. Is there another way? Is there something I'm missing?

If the ladder is not extremely vertical, levi often help. It's often more difficult though, if the ladder is perfectly vertical. It seems like ducking used to help if the problem was sliding off the side, left or right, but since I haven't had trouble with ladders for several years, I haven't tried it lately and not sure if it still does help.

If in first person view, looking up used to help, both going up, but especially going down backwards.

For some reason, I don't remember any of the ladders on the West side of Cabilis other than the ones to get out of the water or I could probably be more help :(

Thanks for the reply. The problem is only with the ladder going from the 2nd level up to Elder. You have to turn around at the top and jump over to the landing. Well, I just haven't been able to succeed. Don't have leve as yet... only at 23 now. Thanks so much. Will try to duck and jump....hehehe, don't know that that is a physical possility.

Boy do I feel stupid. The Elder is outside on the balcony toward the back north east side of the tower. I don't know who that is on the third level, but I hope I never need him. I still haven't been able to get up there. heheh

Since you described it's location in more detail, that seems very familiar to me now. I can't remember if I got to that NPC or not, but remember having trouble, I think back in the day, with my first Iks War toon. Back then, I tried to talk to every NPC. Lol, me trying to talk to every NPC I ran into seems very ironic, since, I'm really very quiet, and rarely talk in real life :D Also, I was thinking that NPC was in East Cabilis in the Shaman guild (#1 on the following map: http://www.eqmacwiki.com/eqatlas/ecabilismap.html )

If I'm not thinking of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I seem to remember with levi, a way I thought, or may have gotten to him, from a building outside and floating over. But again, that could of been RtCW, which had quite few hidden enemies, with no real (hallway, steps, etc.) way to get to them, but jumping from roof to roof and so on, you could.

If I get back into game soon, I'll go take a look at West Cabilis again :)

EDIT: I thought you specifically mentioned, West Cabilis, but I see I got that from the Elder Patriarch Ixthal bestiary page, which lists him as being West Cabilis, but from your description, it seems like he is in East Cabilis.

I remember that guy from years ago when I ran Greenmist on my Erudite SK. He's needed for a quest turn-in and it was so frustrating reaching him that I would just beg a summoned Ring of Flight off a mage and use the levitation effect once I climbed the ladder.

Later I started an Iksar beastlord, realized he had some of my spells and immediately moved to Luclin instead Smiley: laugh

Your original post was nagging at me... it was familiar but I couldn't remember why... then you posted the above...

I played an Iksar beastlord and did the same thing (wasted hours trying to get to the guy I didn't actually need).
