Hello everyone, I was just considering coming back for the free to play and picking up my level 55 paladin.
However, I have one problem I never really understood how much AC I need to tank stuff for each level range as I would just kind of take a guess.
I am planning on Multi-Boxing 5 or 6 characters at the same time.
My setup will be Paladin/Shaman/Enchanter/Cleric/Wizard/Magician.
Now my problem is since I will be using my Paladin as the MT for this group and not a tank mercenary, is there a formula to figure out the damage reduction AC gives for each level, and what % I should try to maintain to tank all the group content.

There's really no hard and fast rule for what you ask. Given that you can never go wrong with more AC take a look at this thread and consider using those zones as you level.

One think you mentioned is you were planning on 5 boxing and using the free to play. Only the wiz and cleric are available with the basic f2p, your pally is a preexisting character so will be grandfathered but unless he has a gold account will run up against the AA cap which will really affect his tanking abilities at higher levels.

Thanks for the link, I will be checking it out and reading up as much on it as I can.
On F2P restrictions I already have all of my characters made on different accounts so I am all setup and ready to go when it launches.
If someone could be so kind to check this link to my character and tell if my stats are decent enough to just jump back into everything when F2P launches.

I would suggest replacing your visible slots with defiant gear for your level. It sells cheap in the bazaar and drops commonly off of almost any mobs in the game. Defiant gear with ac augs will get you to lvl 80. Just upgrade it to the appropriate level defiant gear as you level up.
Also, the AC aug link supplied by Cilrail is golden.

One thing to note is that AC on a shield is not subject to the cap. So get the highest AC shield you can and put your best AC augment on it.
