returning player here,haven't played since ldon was kinda new,was curious if tasks were lvl related & if not would it be worth goin back into low lvl zones to do them,im 75
There doing some stuff on test now that might make this more appealling (going back and doing old tasks) as they are trying out something similar to warhammer's "tome of knowledge" --another layer to the "achievements" system if you will.
For the joy of the journey all of EQ can be done at any level.
If you are focused on effort vs. usable reward... Most of EQ is designed to be totally obsolete by the content that supersedes it. So if you levelled up to 90-95 you'd pretty much live in the last 2-3 expacs for all purposes.

Eventhough as Snailish said, in general, items become out dated quickly with new expansions, some still have value. A few examples, include the epic, espeically, the 1.5 and 2.0s. Although they're only useful for about 10 levels as actual weapons, the clickies on them make them pretty useful forever. Clicky items are the main exception to this rule, however, there are a few items that aren't clickies that are worth while to pursue. The Breakdown in Communication series of quests results in a still very valuable augmentation (fits in the widest variety of slots and aug slots of any aug, and hard to beat stats until 90+, and even then not easy to beat). The Face aug (Model XLII Spatial Temporal Oculus is one of very few items with End Regen on it, and thus makes it very useful and valuable.

The Adventurer's Stone is still descent to max out, depending on whether you plan on leveling to max quickly or not. There's not much better Charm augs.
