patcher problemsFollow

hello everyone,

i am installing everquest for the first time in 3 or 4 years, and am having difficulties getting the patcher to work. i have changed my tcp and udp ports so that i shouldnt be having any issues communicating with their servers, however whenever i try to run the patcher, it says that i cannot connect to the servers. i have been researching this for a few hours, have done the walkthrough on portforward.com, and have turned the settings on my firewall down to the point that there shouldn't be an issue.

if anybody has any pointers, i would really appreciate it!

Get the latest patcher from http://launch.soe.com/everquest/ and save it to your EQ directory and then run it.

To avoid some potential issues, be sure you do not create the EQ directory under "Program Files". Some versions of Windows have issues in the game when the directory is in program files. Something about windows not properly accessing the directory or something (so things like the maps disappear and other issues.)
