Leadership XP

It seems that in previous expansion, setting roles in group would require some xp in leadership. But I find that I can assign group roles without training in leadership. I just wonder whether it is still necessary to train leadership as it seems that it still takes up some xp. Anyone pls give an advice to a return player like me? Thx.

Basically, they only gave Main Assist free. The other Leadership AAs are still there and require xp to obtain. Inspect Buffs on any PC works for free also. Health of Target's Target (HoTT), Spell Awareness, and Inspect Buffs are still descent to get, and are generally the minimum I get on any toon. On toons I play alot, I try to get them all.

It requires 3 group members (which can be mercs) in close proximity in the same zone to get group Leadership XP. It requires 3 group members to have access the already purchased group Leadership AAs.

Thank you very much. The leadership abilities are very good but I just don't want to waste XP if they are changed to free. If they are not free, I am very willing to spend some XP to get the abilities.
