Returning player, been gone since 2008. Can a 71 mage and 51 druid group to level the druid? If so, what zones should we go to? I cannot remember how the XP works. I had trouble remembering how fishing worked last night....hehe.

Yes those two can get xp together. IIRC the way you figure if you can group together is 1.5 of the level +1. So 51, rounded down, is 25 so 76+1=77 should be able to group with your druid and get xp.

I would recommend taking the druid to Blackfeather Roost and getting them several levels. Your mage will get aa xp while you are killing and the druids xp will jump leaps and bounds. I took a 54 monk there with my 73 shaman and had the monk 57 within a couple hours of casual killing, it just seemed to fly.

Another spot that would have fewer people there is Plane of Innovation. It still gives good xp and you can pull several more. I recommend getting a Journeyman Merc Tank for the mage and a healer for the druid and just pull several at once. I did this on the monk also and could pull 8-10 mobs and have the 73 J1 tank merc handle them without any issues. I did have an AE slow with the shaman though.

Try those two out and see how it works, they should both provide easy killing for your group. Then you may look at Sunderock or the Steppes to get a few more levels.

Roost should be great as grovers suggested.

If your mage can handle Icefall Glacier it could be good too. My brother and I have both used 70 necros to fast-level characters 50-65+. Icefall is great for kiters, so obviously that's not mage tactics. We'd just park the characters needing levels in the zone, burn their lesson and then login the next character (but we had a pile of characters to catch up).

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have run into a problem. My new machine cannot play Everquest longer than 5 minutes before the video crashes and locks up my machine. I have been working with EQ Customer Service but so far no suggestion they have fixes the problem. New machine plays Rift, WoW and SWTOR for days and no issues. Try to play a 13 year old game and it crashes in 5 minutes.

I am moloing in Plane of Disease right now using my old machine with its 17" monitor just like the good ole' days.

Found that there are quite a few good leveling guides with info on where to level and how to level a lot faster on this site : http://www.eq.freemmorpgguides.com/category/everquest-leveling-2/
