Guilds with no active Officers...Follow

Hey all, a bit of a random question. I have 4 characters on 4 different accounts that I tend to 3 or 4 box regularly. Unfortunately, one is not guilded, the other two are in two separate guilds. Any way to force an active play to take over officer abilities in a guild since there are no active officers left? I believe one option to make it easier is to put them into a fellowship, but I think there is still some missing options that would be useful from the guild hall. One of my toons is also in a guild that's been around since around 2001, so that is the one I'd like to put them all in.

So, is there any way to take over guild leader or officer functionality? Petition a GM maybe? Do they have the ability to alter guild status?

Actually there is a great new option, make your own guild! Type in /guild and create your own, no petitions or headache anymore.

Now if you were trying to take over an inactive guild the only option may be to /petition a gm for information.

You can petition to have another player in the guild flagged as a 2nd guild leader. I'm sure the gm that responds will have questions and there may be some limitations but I know of at least 2 situations in the past where this has happened. In one case the gm just needed to see that none of the officers or the gl were online for a very long time.

I petitioned to have one of my characters moved to leader since the leader hadn't played in over five years/ The GM told me to start my own guild and wouldn't change the leader. Kinda cheezy.

Yeah it is cheezy i agree...they should look back at the logs and see they havent been on for 5yrs.
Esp why have you start a new guild? dont they think you would like to keep the guilds name active and would like to rejuvinate (sp) it...now im thats lazy on SoE's behalf

Ya, for me its nostalgia. It was the second guild I was in back in 2001 or 2. Would love to keep it alive.

Guild tag is one per account. Supposing you are a co leader (but not founder) of a guild you run some risks if that founder goes awol...

My brothers guild tag from Rodcet Nife has been moved around a couple of times now, via mergers and petitions. Since I know him (lol) his long absences from the game haven't been a problem.

However, if the guild is presently dead and you want to revive it --I wouldn't unless you were the founder. You are the dedicated player so you might as well have the total control of the tag.

So many have multiple accounts now that even if you had an old guild tag you don't want to reuse, you probably could use account #2 (or 3...) for your current vision.

my two cp.
