Looking to start playing after 10 years. I dont remember though are characters limited in how many tradeskills they are able to work on?

Somewhat. Upto 200 skill there is no cap, then only one skill above 200 (300 the current caps) without buying some AAs to gain more skills, which you can get all 7 (well 8 now, since spell research can be done by all with limitations) by any one toon. Alchemy is still Shaman only; Poison Making is still Rogue only; and Tinkering is still Gnome only.

EDIT 2: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/eq:New_Tanaan_Crafting_Mastery and https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/Category:EQ_Tradeskill_AA for the AAs

...unless they have more money than time and just buy a Draught of the Craftsman or two.

They work now so that you never lose any materials.

Q: How do you make a small fortune doing tradeskills?

A: Start with a large fortune and it will be small by the time you're done.

I play on FV. It would probably be cheaper for me to get to 300 pottery than to buy powersources and ornaments from the open market Smiley: lolSmiley: tongue

For pottery yes, as the eqtraders skill up path still works well for it.
