Station Cash is a Sony currency used to buy stuff from in-game marketplaces (type /marketplace in the command line to see it). You can buy Station Cash with real Cash or turn in game cards for Station Cash or turn them in for game time (and some extra Station Cash if from specific vendors like Wal-Mart).

https://www.everquest.com/faq Just for creating an account (Bronze level) you get 500 Station Cash as a gift. Older accounts are grand-fathered in as Silver, but since Bronze are given 500 SC, you can use that 500 SC to buy the account wide upgrade to Silver, offering more character slots per server, more inventory slots, and all the other goodies, including ability to /join channels.
See
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Items_Augmentation for details about augments. Note that the bird bath is no longer used. Reading the wiki page will explain how to do it now, as does clicking on a bird bath. The simple answer is to augment something, you put the augment on your cursor then click the appropriate aug slot on the item display then confirm you want it inserted. One of the list aug types must match the clicked aug slot type.
