Kaesora, I know. Know well enough to stay the heck out of it for now Smiley: grin Don't need any spider rushes.

The irony of me choosing a beastlord to do my Kunark story just dawned on me. But I didn't really set out to "do Kunark" so much as I thought it'd be an interesting location far enough away from Banner's story and I never much cared for Luclin.

Yeah, not too shabby for a grognard or whatever the hell that was Smiley: grin

[Meant in jest, of course. I appreciate all and any comments on the thread.]

It occurs to me that I'm not sure any weight reduction bags drop from non-raid content on Kunark. This kinda sucks. I don't even have a source of bears with which to make crappy 10% WR backpacks Smiley: laugh

Not too shabby at all. Keep in mind (especially should any old grognard being reading this) I at least want it always known that the word is not a pejorative. It's (or, it was, at least- like all words, it's been changing in relation to the evolution of the rpg environment through its various editions/changes/etc) just like the phrase "devil dog"

ask yourself this: if there was a button on EQ called "hide mechanics" which if you click it, you can never be privy to any mechanical knowledhe -stats won't show, hp numbers wont show, aug stat don't show. All you would ever be able to do is to get info from stuff like identify, or from NPCs telling you about it, or you may use the wand and see it fries an orc captain in one shot, whereas it takes the wizard two; whatever, but you're completely unable to see any of the actual mechanics of the game

if you click the button, you're role playing inclined; if you don't click the button, you're wargaming inclined- nothing right ior wrong about either/any: just a description of style of gameplay- never did I mean it as a pejorative

I did a Iksar beastlord this way before TSS expac (so no ooc regen, world drops to sell for loot, etc.). I did visit Luclin a bit... mostly because it is so young beastlord favorable gearwise. However, for me that beast was my first character to do most of that Luclin content... so it was fresh rather than something old I hated lol. Pretty sure I lived in Kunark 25-51 though.... and levelling was slow.

Pure Kunark is very cool. Dalnir will be hard at the appropriate level. I finished the claw quest (with an assist for the last bit) and retired that character at 51. He's lost on a second account I let lapse years ago, otherwise I'd probably have revived him by now.

Seasons Twenty until Twenty-Four
I awake in my hidden tunnel in Kurn's Tower. Deeper down the shaft, the stink and echoing yelps of the Burynai make my tail twitch. This passage must have been hewn by the diggers, coming up from below to pillage the artifacts of our past. A few of the creatures shuffle about in the adjacent room near the broken wall. My companion and I swiftly kill them and in the hallways I spy a strange skeleton, unusually nimble compared to the stiff gait of the others. I engage the undead fighter and crush it with my hammer and mace hoping that it carries possessions worthy of its uniqueness. It carries with it merely a scrap of paper, a large sword and its undamaged skull. Disappointed, though heavy with loot, I make my way to the surface and return to Cabilis to sell what I've found and restock.

After days in the dusty enclosure of that cursed tower, I desire fresh air and an open hunt. I have learned much since the last time I was in mountainous wood north of Cabilis, both in the martial arts and from the Prime Patriarch's scribes. I am no shaman, I am a hunter of these lands, but their arts of healing, of protection and strengthening the body are known to me. I call on Cazic Thule to spray poison on my enemies, to swarm their bodies with vermin and parasites to hamper their attacks. The spiritualists of my people are powerful but I am more savage than they, trading a measure of their magicks for physical ferocity and forsaking their metal chain armor for hides and the protection of my own scales.

I move surely over the moss and loam of these woods, no longer harried by the weak goblins and Iksar bandits outside the city's guarded perimeter. A massive wall of great masonry marks my destination. The giants who call themselves Kromdul and live within here rarely pose a threat to the city, preferring to remain deep in the forest. We are not allies though and they attack all who come near their settlements. Today I will hunt them instead and remind them of the power of the Iksar. The young giant guarding the entry is inexperienced and it is easily to lure him away before he finds himself flanked by hunter and scaled wolf. The giants inside do not seem to hear his cries as he is torn down by fang and hammer blow. Within the settlement, we move swiftly along the walls, using feints and distractions to pull lone giants into the far reaches and slaughter them away from their kin. Several of the Kromdul carry massive tools which I have no use for but keep to sell later. A few carry heavy magical vine cords around their finger; I take one and wear it around my neck.

During our hunt, the pitiful cries of one defeated giant draw the attention of an elder warrior. He rushes us, swinging a mighty hammer and I am forced to fall back from his blows. I do not retreat though. Out in the forest, I allow the Kromdul warrior to pursue me as my companion strikes him from behind. When he turns to attack her, I call the slowing vermin upon the giant and use my magic to heal my warder from the crushing wounds of his hammer. His attempts to reach me are met time and again with this cycle and slowly his steps start to falter. He realizes his peril and how separated he is from his kin out here in the dense wood. He attempts a panicked flight back to safety but my companion and I are emboldened and leap upon his back. He collapses with a heavy, bloody crash and we are victorious. This prey was a special prize -- from his hand, I claim the hammer. From his ear, a loop of gold suspending a preserved sphere of magical hardwood.

I return to Cabilis, more swift-footed and sure of my step than ever. Trees blur past as I race through the ferns and branches. Within the city, the tools I earned from my hunt prove especially lucrative. A couple massive picks and hammers more than double my purse when I show them to the Kloks. I peruse the wares of a group of Kloks specializing in medicinal herbs and rare roots. I have no skill in making potion but one sells fine-skinned pouches, deep and light. A pile of of these weigh less than a single one of my packs and I purchase several. Traveling lighter means more chances for carrying treasures. I consider my next move: I could return to the giant settlement and hope for more treasure, perhaps something I can use personally. I could return to the cursed tower and attempt to loot more magicked Burynai hide armors and perhaps even a new weapon. Or I have heard of things out in the low mountains past the Lake of Ill Omen, caverns of goblins and a fortress of Sarnaks. Ultimately I decide instead to purchase myself a savory meal and sleep for the night.

[OOC: Yay, Spirit of Wolf! Yay, new weapon! Yay, something in one of my jewelry slots! The giants are good xp (and Warsliks is a hot zone) and I still hope for a Lumberjacks Cap to drop. Kurns would now be largely trivial to plow through and hope for armor drops while camping the IBC. The allure of a (rare) potential drop of a Sarnak Emblazoned Tabard or Earring of Station can not be denied. I'm talking courtyard, not attempting the actual fort tunnels... I'm not suicidal. Or even starting the claw weapon chain (my H2H skill is pathetic... literally). In any event, gaining SoW opens up a lot of possibilities for me. Also, seeing it posted, this update is a gajillion times longer than I thought I could write about camping giants.]

You are an entertaining writer, Jophiel, definitely keep these coming!
Just thinking of doing the research for items you could obtain on that one continent sounds like a lot of fun. I remember EQ Atlas listed items you could obtain from each zone, so that may be a good way of finding ideal loot. I also remember Frontier Mountains containing a lot of good items. So is there no newbie weapon you could quest, like the other races get? Like this one.

You're doing really well, I think. You may be close to a crossroads of sorts?

-finishing the newb patriarch armor set.
-levelling up a bit more and probably losing stat-incentive to bother with the newb armor

Pretty sure my old Iksar beast (playing this way) wore the Shar val quest armor (worse than the newb set) into 30s, but I wasn't necessarily choosing targets with precision either.

There is actually a progression quest chain for a H2H weapon out of Cabilis. I originally mistakenly thought I had to complete the Patriarch's claw to start it but I don't. I'll likely begin it very soon, if only to make sure that I have a magical weapon.

My handling of defiant gear and other global drops (selling it to NPCs) is established but mulling it around, I've decided that any zone specific drops are fair game including old hot zone augments and gear. This is my trade-off for staying on Kunark and being essentially forced to solo (weird for an old player to be the only soul in Lake of Ill Omen) and cut off from the player economy. I don't plan on using mercs -- they don't fit into Shisu's persona anyway -- but if I ever needed to do so for a singular event, it would be an Iksar which restricts me to the tank type.

Season Twenty-Five
Several days I wasted in the cursed tower. Whatever treasures I had hoped to find simply do not exist among the skeletons and Burynai. The thieving diggers crouch back into their corners when I pass, the few who brave to attack me are killed quickly and their bodies left to rot on the floor. There is no pride to be found in killing them, even less in destroying the mindless dead who blindly seek their ultimate destruction in attacking me. My companion is restless and I have run out of reasons to stay here.

Outside the tower, the sun beats down upon this blasted field. The last time I had visited the temple, the Prime Patriarch had requested a task from me. A shaman had turned from our city and joined the rabble bandits and brigands who prey upon travelers. I am to find this traitor and teach him the fear of Cazic Thule. The exiles of Cabilis are weak and know little of hiding themselves. They rely on the vermin of this place, the scorpions, skeletons and scaled wolves to act as their defense against the city patrols. I am a hunter and swiftly track this shaman, evading the numerous beasts. His struggle is a brief one and I use my own claws and strength to rend the blasphemer's jaw free from his skull as a trophy of my actions. From the bandits he had joined, I return with a cloth mask. As I leave their territory, one of the bandits' strongest warriors attack me. From his corpse appears a spectral wolf who inquires as to why I killed this Iksar. I have no time to spend talking to ghosts who do not understand the ways of the hunt.

I pass through the city and into the rolling hills and plains of the Lake. I am to return with a trophy from one of the thieving Sarnaks who plunders our ruins. Aside from the Iksar, all of the races of Kunark are thieves and squatters, living the shadow of the Sebilisan Empire. They live in our ruins, steal our treasures, encroach upon our lands. Only the Iksar deserve this place. Near a massive stone pillar, I spot a familiar sight: a broodling Sarnak trots obliviously about. My companion and I are upon it in an instant and I nearly laugh aloud at what I find -- the fang denied to me so many seasons ago. The Lord of Fear has shown me his approval of my work. I can now return to the Prime Patriarch with nothing unfinished when I seek the reward for this rogue shaman and Sarnak thief.

A low hissing growl come from my companion as we descend a slope. Near the bottom of the hill stands a large human female, her back to us. I have not seen such a creature since I crept over the great bridge and made my way to the Spires many season ago. Among the goblins and Sarnaks, we now have thieves from the lesser races who come overseas. My warder swiftly flanks her as I race down the slope, setting upon her with my hammers. Caught unaware, she is grievously wounded and attempts a retreat towards a stone tower in the distance. She does not make it far but her flight alerts me to more of her kind hiding in our aged structures like all the rest. I skirt the outside and look in through the multiple entrances. Several explorers: barbarian humans and elves. Their leader is an elf clad in metal armor. When I separate him from his fellow intruders, he calls upon his goddess to protect and heal him. She fails him and he dies screaming in fear and pain. From his body I find a compass on a chain, enchanted with protective magicks. I use it to replace the cord I claimed in the Kromdul settlement.

The crumbling building south of the tower is where I find the Sarnak thief I came for. This was a test of my tracking skills, not my ability to kill for the Sarnak provides little challenge before my hammers have broken open its skull and I tear free its brain to take back. With my return, the Prime Patriarch bestows upon me both the claw long denied to me and a more powerful claw as my reward for the deaths of the shaman and Sarnak thief. I sell my fine steel war hammer that I have used for many seasons but keep the forest giant's hammer. It is not enchanted but it is powerful and may yet serve me well. The last days have offered little in skill of hunting but I now have worthy weapons for a hunter.

[OOC: Not much progression on the leveling front. Wasted too much time camping the IBC but at least being in Kurn's put me close to start getting what I needed for the Claw of the Cub quest. It really was a laugh to get the second fang but at least now I can skill up H2H with both hands. I already completed the #2 stage of the quest which I guess I'll roll into the next update although there's not much to say about "camped a plant until it dropped my cabbage". The explorer neck piece was a nice score and the new weapons are nice. Obviously I'll be replacing the Patriarch's claw ASAP but it works for now.]

Seasons Twenty-Six until Twenty-Eight
My companion and I continue to move out further from the safety of Cabilis. The scraps of sewn leather I used for a tunic are unsuitable for one of my skills and I attempt to stitch together a sturdier chest piece. Using a few of the finer pelts I have saved from the cats around the Lake, I cure and sew a fitted garment and carefully hammer metal rivets across it for added protection. It is unenchanted but will protect me far better than the leather rags I wore previously. Another of the Prime Patriarchs sends me on a test of my foraging skills. I return with the required items and am rewarded with a new claw. With my new weapon and armor, I set out past the Lake and arrive at a large Sarnak fortification built into the mountain range. My warder and I work carefully to separate the guards from the fortress gate and slip into the courtyard. Many more of the draconic lizards patrol within here and after time we gain the attention of one of their priests. He rushes us with several guards assisting him and we are forced to flee back to the safety of Cabilis.

Without the strength or numbers to press deeper into the Sarnak fortress, the warder and I move back into the north woods. The Kromdul settlement is comfortable hunting and we spend some time pulling down the giants of the forest. Even their more elder warriors fall by my hands. The hunting is safe but still presents a challenge and a chance to hone my skills. In time, I decide to move deeper into the wood and come across a ruined Iksar building inhabited by the exiled bandits from Cabilis. From one of these pariahs I claim a mask. To wear such a thing among the civilized Iksar would invite disgust but its enchanted leather serves me well in the wilds. My predation upon the hideout causes the leader of these exiles to come forth and challenge me. He pursues me with one of his pariahs but my companion and I are clever. She breaks off from me to double back and attack the pariah from behind while I lead the bandit leader on a chase through the wood. I run swiftly in an arc and come back upon the scaled wolf as she tears out the pariah's throat; she and I can now flank and stand against the stronger Iksar. His ability to fight commands respect and my companion and I are forced to dodge in and out of the fight, sometimes the Iksar bandit fights the wolf as I fall back to call upon Cazic Thule to heal myself and her. Other times I lure him to chase me once more while the warder strikes from behind. He is powerful but we are clever and eventually he falls. My prize is a bracer but it is unsuitable for me. I will sell it back in town.

Season Twenty-Nine
The Kloks offer but a pittance for the bracer I stripped off the bandit lord, far less than its worth. Near the temple, a female Iksar calls to me. She is a strange woman, a mystic who accepts material sacrifice to strengthen the city and our kind against the failings of the gods. Rather than declare her blasphemous and drive her out or kill her, the other temple Hierophants and Patriarchs allow her to not only remain but to work her benedictions outside Cazic's temple. For my sacrifices, she graces me with a glamor to sharpen my senses and mind.

In the swamps, I set myself to complete Prime Patriarch Vuzx's final task. Collecting the froglok bucklers is trivial for one of my skill but the leather breastplate I am rewarded with is sturdier than even the one I crafted from cat hide and metal. I have a momentary regret that I did not spend that effort on another garment but am skilled enough now to make a cloak or boots when I come across another suitable pelt.

I set back into the woods and go deeper than before. Another high walled settlement looms through the trees and mist, this one inhabited by goblins who have claimed another ancient Sebilisan structure. They guard a bridge spanning a deep gorge and leading into the village walls. Most of the goblins are weak and pose no challenge but my slaughter provokes them to send their warlord to fight me. He is a mighty warrior, far stronger than the goblins he protects and stronger even than the Iksar bandit lord. He is clever as well and refuses to fall for the same feints and misdirection that my companion and I used against the bandits. I am forced to flee, the warlord blessed by his shamans and able to stay close behind me. By the time I break his pursuit, I am far from the goblin village and near a deep tunnel close to the sea. Fearing the warlord's search, I slip inside the tunnel for shelter. The tunnel stinks of beast and refuse and I see shambling forms deeper in. Having rested some, I investigate deeper and am rushed by a large orange beast which lumbers upright something like a goblin. Despite its ferocity, the brute is weaker than us and is torn apart. Howls deeper in the tunnels drive me to continue inward but a large chamber contains several of the animals and they take advantage of my state, weakened from the fight with the goblin warlord and the earlier brute. I see glimmering at the far side of the chamber; the reflection of light on deep water. Hoping that the beasts do not swim, I rush for it and dive down, praying the submerged tunnel leads outside. Instead, the rough rock changes to smooth worked stone. Sebilisan icons adorn the walls. I rise out of the tunnel and find myself in a lost Iksar tomb. The illumination of the hallway and noises beyond the twists of the passage immediately let me know that I am not alone.

[OOC: Whew! Enough for now. Shisu is actually level 32 at the moment but I need a typing breather. And you all probably need a reading breather, if you're still keeping up. As noted, I have started to use tribute. I'm forced to husband it fairly closely since most items I collect aren't worth much and I still need to keep my platinum coffers filled but an hour of slight haste and mana regen is worth more than 4pp from the merchants. I fought that stupid Bandit Lord not realizing that the bracer wasn't BST usable -- I thought it was one of those "anyone but casters" type items and didn't bother to look it up. Oh well. I'm working on the next claw quest except that it requires eggs. The only eggs to be found on Kunark are cockatrice eggs which either drop from high level cockatrices in Dreadlands or you forage in Overthere. Guess whose been thrilling to pressing the Forage hotkey every couple minutes? Oh, and another component is a barley you forage from Field of Bone. Adventure, ahoy!]

You could remap forage to go off when you turn right?

I don't remember the hotkey coding... but you used to be able to make a hotkey to /doability and then auto bag the foraged items. (haven't played a forager that used the skill in 6+ years).

You're doing some of my favourite content at the moment... love killing Iksar bandits and goblins.

Yeah, but remapping the ability won't change the fact that I'm stuck in OT and FoB until my items actually come up through the forage tables.

Edit: Also, I'm getting lock ups in OT. The game will freeze, the computer fans will kick on harder and I need to go to Taskmanager to kill the process. Only in OT though. Makin' getting this egg all the more fun.

This is a known issue. It is being discussed on the SOE forums. SOE is aware of the problem, but when a fix might appear, if ever, who knows.....

I'll admit it: I eventually cheated and went to the Commonlands to kill a few snakes and get some eggs. There no "purity" in frustrating myself with constant game crashes every ten minutes just to forage an egg on Kunark and say I did it. I'd probably quit the Shisu experiment before I got my egg.

Good to know it's a known issue and not just me. Rest of the game plays rock solid but OT is a lock-up crashfest.

On a side note, I did very little real game play last night (mainly tradeskill training so I didn't waste my precious egg and Deadbone barley) so I'll probably catch up on Shisu's story tonight. I know, you're all waiting with bated breath and all...

Season Twenty-Nine until Thirty-One
Upon hearing noise down the tomb passage, I slink up against a wall around a corner and take time to rest. My respite is interrupted by an abomination, one of the devourers which spread across the continent. I have seen smaller ones in the swamps outside Cabilis but this one is much greater, a broad pale mass of blanched flesh hard as stone and dominated by a great fanged maw. It floats over the ground by some lost magic of its creation, moving silently and trailed by a long forked whip-like tail. My companion and I are able to kill the creature but I am uneasy: there is little room in these passages to perform the usual pursuits and misdirections we hunt with on the surface. I move cautiously down the tunnel, over piles of debris and stone broken loose from age and stumble upon an armored dwarf. During the fight, an ink-skinned elf and dark hued human hear the combat and come to aid the dwarf. I stand little chance against the three and am forced to flee back the way we came and back up through the water into the brute cavern. The beasts do not notice me as I slip past and return to Cabilis to rest. I will explore this tomb further but I must be better prepared. The oversea races have not been in Kunark long and something powerful must be controlling them to have found this place and set up residence together. Above ground, the oversea races had split into two camps before the so-called dark races overtook the second harbor and drove the light races into exile among the ruins. In this crypt though the overseas races work in concert and aid one another. I need a plan and training before I can hope to press deeper.

In Cabilis, I claim some small magic stone adornments from the vault and attach them to my armor. I decide to wait on my return to the crypt and instead set out past the Lake. I prefer the open air for hunting and hope my destination will provide me with the experience and gear to survive the tight battles underground. Beyond the Lake, I swing wide past the Sarnak fortress and find a pass through the cliffs. Beyond lies the wilds of the Frontier Mountains.

The Mountains are untamed by the presence of the Iksar. Not even our ruins are found here except for a few abandoned outlook towers. Unlike the woods adjacent to Cabilis, the giants and goblins here are not confined to a few walled villages but rather wander openly and freely. Kunark belongs to the Iksar but I feel as though I am the intruder here. But untamed lands mean plentiful prey and the warder and I find easy quarry along the cliffs separating the Frontier Mountains from the plains of the Lake basin. The giants here are Kromdek and more powerful than their woodland cousins. I center my hunting upon them and am rewarded with a heavy leather cap. Goblins and burynai cross through the valley as well but do not yield any treasure of interest. In time, I track the Kromdek to a great walled settlement servicing a tremendous gaping mine. I harry the gate guards but the Kromdek within are beyond my abilities and eventually return to Cabilis, now several days journey away.

Seasons Thirty-One & Thirty-Two
With my patriarch's armor completed, I have been in service of the Prime Patriarch Ixthal to prove myself worthy of more powerful claws. His task to aid one of his agents brings me back into the Field of Bone to search for a particular plant and back under the shadow of the cursed tower. It has been some time since I gave up the tower but the tedium of searching through the weeds leads me to explore the haunted building once more. Within its lower reaches, I find a skeleton wielding an ancient club and wearing a rich leather mantle. Other times I continue to hunt the Frontier Mountains; there is much to find here and I locate several goblin mines but the beasts and inhabitants deep in the range are mighty fighters and I must proceed with caution. But the mountains refine my skills and I become a more capable hunter. I return to the woods and where the Warsliks goblins had settled their village. When their warlord challenges me, this time I stand firm to fight. From his corpse I take a fine pair of gloves made of Iksar hide and a wooden totem. I feel no concern as I pull the scaled gloves over my own hands... the extra scales will protect me well. The totem I hang from my belt. My mind returns time and gain to the Crypt and when I will be ready for it. After aiding the Prime Patriarch's agent, I return to Cabilis with a letter describing my efforts. The Patriarch reads it and bestows upon me a new weapon, rich with enchantments. He also calls upon me for a new task... to investigate the Crypt of Dalnir and bring news from the Sarnaks within.

[OOC: Gearing up continues and I'm preparing to concentrate on Dalnir and the Frontier Mountains. I left out some uninteresting adventures such as hitting up the (mainly lt blue and green) Sarnak fort in LoIO later on and assorted bits of xp'ing. The Kunark zones are so diverse in levels that it's easy to find I've gained two levels in a single night across four different zones. Which also makes it hard to try to describe. Also left out: A bajillion game crashes in OT and a secret trip to Antonica to plunder its rich snake egg resources Smiley: wink2

Also also left out, how I camped the IBC by leaving myself AFK near the Undead Jester spawn point and looking every 20ish minutes to see what died and refresh my pet's buffs. The Thick-Boned Skeleon/UJ was about the only mob aggro to me aside from the stray wandering Lesser Icebone so I'd just let them aggro me and my pet kill 'em. I almost missed looting the IBC because I was used to its old "giant club with two spikes" model and not the new model and didn't recognize it.]

Thanks for these stories Jolphiel.

In 99 I played a Barbarian Shaman for a bit, but my true EQ career didn't start until I made an Iksar Shaman when Kunark was released. His name was Zatx, though I really wanted the name Zat, but we weren't allowed to have three letter names. Zatx has been my online persona ever since.

Kunark, and the areas around Cabilis is where I spent most of my early life in EQ. Your stories really bring back the memories.

So my snag is this:

(1) My gear* kinda sucks. Actually, for Kunark era it's not terrible, especially with the augments and I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far, but Kunark era gear is designed around groups and I'm soloing.
(2) Beastlord pet progression kinda sucks. I'm level 34. My pet is level 26 (currently cyan to me, soon to be green). I don't get another pet until level 39 which will be level 31. I get that I'm not a mage but being forced to do the lion's share of the fighting/tanking is tough given (1).
(3) I have not found a reliable way to split mobs. If anyone has any tricks, let me know. Looked on some BST forums but they're busy talking about how DPS of level 95 pets and how to farm end game gear, not how to split goblins in FM at level 34 when you're wearing leather pyjamas. Go figure.

Therefore, I wind up having to hunt a lot of low blues (lt blue or low dark blues) outdoors but outdoor mobs aren't exactly known for providing decent gear. I'm suspecting that I'm going to be forced to grind outdoor xp mobs until dungeon mobs are green-lt blue just to stand a chance against large pulls and adds.

*Note the snazzy new reinforced cloak. Hand made!

I know you guys are not wanting to use Defiant gear, but as you've pointed out, and what is painfully obvious, gear was designed around group content. Everquest was not meant to be a solo game. As such I would suggest a compromise. Wear just enough defiant gear to be survivable and productive, but not a full set that causes you to be overpowered. Basically find a middle ground, powerful enough to be considered a three person group of the Kunark era. That might be two pieces of defiant gear at level 32 or 4 pieces at 39, you'll have to be the judge. If you find yourself single-handedly clearing a dungeon without dying, you'll know you've gone too far. :)

Nah, if I can't do it without, I just won't do it. I get where your suggestion is coming from but substantially gearing up outside the expansion defeats the point of staying within the expansion. I might as well get back on my neglected mage Smiley: grin

Ironically, although BST seemed a little like "cheating" before (since it's a Luclin era class), I may have been better off with a Kunark era Iksar monk, necromancer or shadowknight if only for Feign Death.
