Nah, if I can't do it without, I just won't do it. I get where your suggestion is coming from but substantially gearing up outside the expansion defeats the point of staying within the expansion. I might as well get back on my neglected mage Smiley: grin

Ironically, although BST seemed a little like "cheating" before (since it's a Luclin era class), I may have been better off with a Kunark era Iksar monk, necromancer or shadowknight if only for Feign Death.

Banner is dying (literally) to get feign death. As an undergeared SK... dungeons have been a joke really, but I keep trying. Living in Kunark as a Beast... I spent so much time in the Overthere (I hear it's a crashfest lately), Emerald Jungle and such. It really took a looong time to do level 30-51. My gear at 51 wasn't much better than my gear at 20.

Beastlords get really strong with the LoY spells (which are now vendor sold?), 50s pet and a bed of AA at 55, so it depends what you have the patience for imo.

As far as split pulling.... against animals you can lull, fear and such no?

The only animal spell I have at the moment is Invis to Animals. No idea if that changes but then split pulling animals isn't really a concern. Split pulling Sarnaks, goblins, burynai*, giants, etc would be infinitely more useful than split pulling cats.

Anyway, the plan is to put on another level or two and then try Dalnir again for my claw quest. If I can't do it alone, I may hire a merc just for the dungeon on the premise that the Prime Patriarch is sending along assistance.

*I have no idea why I capitalize Sarnak and not burynai. It's just "sarnak", I guess right? Like goblin or orc?

You will eventually get an aa invisible. Been so long since I've been on my Bl I forget if there is a spell. When I was young I would try to use flash of light as a pulling spell.
The one mob you blind runs off and the other mobs come to you. Problem is that the blindness wears off quickly and the mob may not be out of aggro range.

The Flash of Light trick sounds like it might be useful for outdoor locations, such as when there's three or four mobs in a ruin. Probably less wise in a dungeon setting Smiley: grin

I hired a tank merc (since that's the only Iksar option) for my trip to Dalnir. Glad I did since I was regularly mobbed by 6+ mobs that even as greens and lt blues would have killed me swiftly. Instead they all got wtfpwnt by the ridiculously overpowered merc. He won't be a regular addition to the party but I had to decide on an option besides "Wait until the mobs are all gray cons".

And when the other random mobs in the area aren't social with the mobs you're splitting. I remember using FoL at the various skele/orc camps in the commonlands and faydark way back in the day. It worked because the mob you flashed would come back solo 99% of the time, so it was just time you didn't have to deal with the extra mob.

It's death on a spell icon in a dungeon setting.

Not sure if you'd be willing to goto Luclin or not(Kunark only right?), but Depending on Shisu's tailoring skill, you could make your own
Greyhopper hide armor
from the skins of hoppers in marus seru, would be a bit of an increase in AC to help from getting whacked.
But, the moon is not kunark. I don't think the patriarch knows of the moon.....

I think there are a few other ac augments available from the hotzone quests in the zones around there as well, maybe another 5 AC or so. Might be worth checking into.

I've picked up a few upgrades although I find it pretty funny that, at level 40, I have YET to have a magic ring drop. There really hasn't been much opportunity for ring drops on Kunark in my level range thus far aside from the rare Goblin Gazhui (sp? whatever) ring.
