My sister who use to play everquest died August 23, 2013. She lived in Lawson Missouri I have contacted eq customer service. I told them I could give them her

toons name, account name, her address, city zip code, her real name, my birth certificate and her death certificate but I do not know the account password or credit

card information or e-mail she may of used. They seem to be of no help, I am looking for away to have access so all of her friends and former guild mates know what

is going on. I cannot believe they do not have a policy of some kind as being her brother so I can have access to her account. I am going to try and contact yahoo

but doubt that will yield any results. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

You need to talk to the executor of her will / estate.

It's both an honor and a burden to serve as someone's executor. An executor is entrusted with responsibility for winding up someone's earthly affairs -- a big or little task, depending on the situation. Essentially, an executor is charged with protecting a deceased person's property until all debts and taxes have been paid, and seeing that what's left is transferred to the people who are entitled to it.

First, my condolences on your loss. You could try contacting her bank for the credit card details, but that may be a difficult road. You could also try posting on the SOE forums asking for other members of her guild to contact you. Personally, I would PM Piestro and explain the circumstances. I hope everything works out.

First, my condolences to you...

As a former EQ GM, I know that GM's do not actually have the password information on accounts. If an account needs to be accessed, they do it through a master password. But I would suggest that you petition from your account with the details above, and whe/if they deny your request, you can ask for a Lead GM look into your issue. They would be the one's that might be able to help you.

I wills say that they will have to research your request...you would not believe what people will say to try to get access to accounts. So I cannot guarentee that you will get access, but a Lead GM will give you the best chance.

I also recommend not using the phone number...typically, they will not be able to handle this kind of issue, and you will always be denied by them.

The executor of the will appraoch also might work...never would have thought of that.

Good luck to you.

The issue there is that accounts are nontransferable so no one is entitled to take control of it.

My condolences and best of luck. You probably already have but I would take the intermediate step of using my own account to log onto my sister's old server and attempt to contact her guild that way. Or try to contact her guild leader and give them the sad news to share.

Entitled or not, this is the only legal way to access a deceased relatives financial records, anything else would be considered fraud.

How do I get in contact with a Lead GM ? The executor of her will which would be fine if she had one. I will put it this way as her one son said the "B is dead and I care because ????" the other son is not any much more help either. I am not going to stress about it not that serious can't believe no policy for a family member to take over an account.

Larth: The problem is she could of used any e-mail address and I do not know the password to them. I live in San Diego, California and she lived in Lawson Missouri. I am not aware of any eq books. I know she use to dual box and been trying to get the computers she used but of course her children my nephews leave a lot to be desired all I am going to say. I think it is a sad day that soe does not have a policy or procedure when a family member is willing to take over the account: pay for it, and wants to do the right thing by his or lost loved one.
