To: Gereal Woodone protector of the Glade,
Holkyn assurred me that than hunting in the moor was something we could handle. After all, who had bested the critters of the Shar Vahl Pit, smashed the hopes of the Loda Kai , and made faces at ugly aliens ? Why us of course, along with our fellow mutant rights activists.
Holkyn of course, is one to be trusted. He is menacing and mighty in his savageclaw armor . Between his warcry and Mystro's drumming no one sleeps in Shadeweaver's at night any more... but I digress.
The hunt in the more was to aid Holkyn in proving to his guildmaster that he is worthy of a better weapon . The hunt itself is not difficult, it seems his Vah Shir elders are amused by seeing their young repeatedly hunt the same creatures. At least the guard took pity on us when the moor creatures began to lash back in anger at being so relentlessly disturbed.
My druidly self could do little but watch Holkyn rend hapless beetles and in-the-way rockhoppers into cat food --I much prefer greens but one can't be choosy on the moon... sure I contributed the occasional heal and the odd blast of fire, but this drains my precious magical energy so fast I must rest.
Much time passes and we have had some success hunting the bugs. We decide to hire Javer and her warrior friend to expediate the hunt. Being cats they readily take to the game. Sitting in sight of the little outpost, I realized that I am the only furless one as far as the eye can see. I start thinking of renting a small one-room apartment in Katta Castellum .
In one of these fatigued moments Holkyn rushed back from his scouting and said "I see dirtchimp!". "Dirtchimp? Is that some sort of foul lunar monkey?" I ask. "No... no.. Dirtchomp " Holkyn corrects me. I'm a druid I love animals. I rush to meet the cute monkey. It tries to eat me! I am bloody and unconscious on the ground. I hear "I am Holkyn out!". When I am revived I am offered a roasted piece of drumstick . The others in Surefall may not approve, but I sure found that meal satisfying.
Regards,
Denth, Outcast Druid of Surefall (on lunar sabbatical)
[/ooc some creative licence in the retelling lol. At one point I "helped" by rooting a wandering beetle (the mobs we were after) but social aggro is so huge in Hollowshade that it brought adds and Holkyn ate a death. Dirtchomp tore me apart but the merc easily soloed the mob that was at least 7 if not 12 levels above it. Easy doesn't mean fast... just not risk of the merc dying. I did feel like an old cat lady at one point, it is Vah Shir land after all. I also aggroed Gorehorn who was waaay to above even our merc quest item farming team. Dying on the moon is kind of fun actually...]
