We're a fun guild that was born on these forums. Various threads with "Lunar Madness" in the title connect to our exploits. The guild is laid-back and casual and seeks to make playing EQ fun and social. We have no pretenses of lasting long or doing amazing things, but we'll enjoy this while we can.

The core concept of our guild is "living/levelling on Luclin without defiant (etc.) making the content trivial".

How this actually plays out can be summarized:
-defiant drops used as vendor fodder
-avoiding the use of powerful /claim, loyalty stuff, and modern PoK quests... but not frowning on veteran rewards or convienience things people want to do to make it fun for them
-mercs used as a levelling tool (if wanted), basically not used in a group (because we know the mercs can grind out the zones without us really). But, we'll pop the merc if needed as a rezzer or whatever real needs calls for it.
-Shar Vahl was our home base for low levels, we're sort of spread between Shadowhaven and Katta Castellum (and our guild hall) now.
-Classes that need PoK (for spells, tomes, etc.) use PoK. You need a Luclin tradeskill drop and don't want to farm it for 4 weeks and can buy it off a modern vendor or in baz --go for it.
-some people solo or box and chat in guild, others regularly group. Some are doing lots of questing, others are aiming more for the top end (50-60) zones for fun. We've run the Hollowshade War a few times and have other targets in mind.
-We've spent some time attempting the Twilight Sea armor quests, and that has mostly played out --we're probably stocking the guild bank with decent gear (for the era) from the 40+ zones in the near future once the current characters are dressed.
-any class is welcome, and whatever a person wants to play is them (we don't distinguish boxes, alts, etc.).
-You don't have to be a gold account to have fun with this, since the gear we aspire too (and the zones we are doing) are all below the threshold that being silver pinches.

approximatley 13 allakhazam posters in guild as I type this. 27 characters (and I haven't even made my usual 7 alts yet) with most having logged in the past 5 days. If you're in the guild and lost interest, that happens... feel free to drop in and say hello.

If you want to give this a whirl, the easiest route to an invite is post here and say what you have named your character(s). Then we'll friendlist you and seek you out! (or just /who all lunar and you probably catch someone on).

My final comment: My time in this guild has been some of the funnest times in EQ for me since LDoN era. Considering Luclin is goofy (if not weird) content I was never really a fan of, it just shows that getting a decent group of people together let's this game shine no matter what you are doing in it.

Edit: Cazic Thule Server! (thanks Gbaji, that was a definate omission)

I'll pop on sometime when I have a day off on my as-of-yet barely used ranger, Gallo. I made him specifically for this, but have gotten way too into playing a necro that I'm just playing any content with. If the necro is welcome at least so I have people to talk to while I play, I can look some of you up. Necro's name is Meltorefas.

KC13 has a character "listening in" amongst his multitude of alts, so we can tag your necro and your ranger. Smiley: nod

It's been the most fun I've had in EQ for a long, long time. Helpful, "interesting" people, laid back attitudes and much vicious murder of things that look different then we do.

What more could you need in a MMO?

Moved my 66 shaman over last night. Cleared Fear :) Golems weren't up but a really nice bard agreed to let me loot the tear if there was an extra if and when Terror popped. So after clearing all the trash and watching my merc n pet take on 12 light blues at a time, got lots of vendor trash but no tear :(

Had to rename my shaman but I stick with Wordaen whenever I can so I'm not hard to find. Just got my 300th AA too. Low yet but I feel good about his progress so far.

Got EQ reinstalled and patched up. I'll be joining you guys once I figure out what I want to play :D

Rolled up a Vah Shir Warrior, Mrrawrn. Is anyone else planning on making Vah Shir, so that we might try the Vah Shir-specific quests?

EDIT: Never mind. Since you're forced to start in Crescent Reach, you can't do the citizenship quest (or the subsequent class-specific quests) unless you get a MQ. Le sigh.

I can roll up a throw away Vah Shir War and do the quest up to turning in the Acrylia Slate. Then you turn in the slate and "Voila". you are a citizen!

EDIT: OK, done, Zeemmann is WAR's name, has done all up to turn in at the Registrar. Get your acrylia slate at Mignah and let me know. I will turn in paper, then you turn in slate and you're good to go!

OH, and welcome to the "Lunies"!!!!!!

As for the Vah Shir quests, I'm well along them on my Bard, Rogue and Warrior. I have a Beastlord friend who can create that item and our good friend Bijou is working on the Shaman part. My Bard has already created a couple of items, but drops are hard to get. My Warrior has two combines ready to go as soon as his smithing skills are high enough. My Rogue is stuck in Shadeweaver's looking for Shak Dratha skulls and I have yet to see any Wetfangs in Paludal. There used to be a couple at the first lake, but alas no more......

Check out this thread Itemized Vah Shir quest items for items and ground spawn locations to add to the Hollowshade map.

Another addendum: I've ended up rolling up a ranger and cleric (which I was considering doing in the first place). I'll keep the vah shir on the side and probably let them loot stuff from the Hollowshade War once I get to that point :D

Joined to listen in with my Necro last night, will likely play a bit with the ranger and join with him when I have some daytime hours to play.

I play odd times, mostly early morning or early evening, so haven't been able to group up too much. Having loads of fun, though! My crew, SK/Bst/Druid, is coming along nicely. Currently 55 and hanging out in Umbral Plains. I'll probably be there awhile to rack up some AAs and grab some gear.

Having a blast! I might even start up another crew if I can decide on classes. Leaning towards Monk/Shaman/Wiz but not definate yet. We shall see.

I've been farming trash mobs in Fear waiting for the golems to pop. Anyone who wants the drops are more than welcome to pop in after or during the clear and loot the no drop class specific armor and quest items. Warrior, Nec, Berserker, Druid and Shadow Knight armor pieces dropped all over the place last night. At 66 I can handle the zone so Id love to pay it forward for everyone. Just look for Wordaen and shoot me a tell or toss me an invite :)

I have been having lots of fun in this guild.
My Wizard is now level 50, but shes got decent gear from leveling up with the mutants.I still have a bunch of quests i want to do, although being really low faction in katta starting is tough.

Have a shaman too, great as a buffbot. But for some reason i wasn't grooving on the shaman all that much. Having 2 casters as my duo team kinda ruined part of the fun - weapons and armor!

I might put my shaman in backseat mode, which means i'll give way some of the shamans gear to the next up and coming guild shammy. I have a bunch of the Twilight armour, Twilight spear and a few odd wisdom items and they are all not no-drop! I miss those days when most gear wasn't no drop, it was tradable. Its nice as hand me down gear.

so i took my monk, that was rotting away being not used on Vox (I had a BST/MNK duo going on there for a bit, but it was too hectic to box. So i switched the MNK for a cleric and the cleric was better, but left the monk totally unused.), level 55 monk on Vox was in full defiant gear. Totally took a lot of the fun out of being a monk for sure. Was also... a drakkin! cant have any silly drakkins (i dislike the animations), and they were never around during luclin days.

So, after a magical vial allowed her transfer to Cazic from Vox, and another strange vial to change into an scaly Iksar, my monk is now my wizards oddly paired friend. I got her away of the defiant gear, and went to gear her in luclin era worthy gear. Its so much more fun this way. Really feel like i can upgrade and find things for this character. Its so much more fun than before! Totally re-energized this character bringing it into the foray with the mutants. Iksar has proven to be a good choice, the extra AC and regen are helpful for tanking. (Since stats actually Matter in Luclin) Forsaking the way of the defiant has never felt so good!
Now im busy gearing up the monk in luclin era (some earlier) gear. I first tried Cured silk but it wasn't enough armor really, so i made greyhopper armor for the monk, and its so far, so good. However, its kind of heavy still so i'll need to find more upgrades.

Even though its not luclin, I've headed to Guk to try it out. to find some old good upgrades.(Nice thing about this concept, the old uber drops are never camped)
(flowing black silk sash, crown of froglok kings)
Even got in trouble a bit in lower guk with 50 wizard and 55 monk in era gear, those little monsters can really add up and hit hard!
plane of fear drops would be great upgrades!

The two I have have the defiant stuff but Wordaen is a transplant from Xegony and Telessar is now more my banker. I plan to roll up an Iksar SK and a few others and go the old school way.

You could do some funny things with other crews... 2 mages and a chanter for example

Haha, I can see that. Charm/Mez break...3 clothies running frantically trying to root/nuke/mez/tash while 3 pets keep breaking everything :)

Wait a minute, I HAVE seen that happen...in Chardok...it was ugly...

I have to wonder, since oftne people aren't on when I'm playing, but who's who in the guild? I know Jhenni is Joph, I'm Meltorefas and (soon) Gallo. But I don't know who anyone else is.

That might not be good. All 3 fighting over a cloth drop. Could be casualties.
