Hello all. I'm from Al'kabor serverFollow

Well hello all. I'm from the now closed Al'kabor server which for any that are not familiar only went up to planes of power. On that server I played a High Elf Paladin named Fien. He was level 65 (max level there) with 359 AA's. I decided to reincarnate him on this server and am currently level 4. What a big difference when playing pc side from the Mac server. I know EQ was originally a pc product but I never played it since when it came out my pc at the time was shy of the requirements and in 2000 or so I switched to macs and never went back so EQMAC was what I learned to play on when it was released in 03.

I'm playing on the Bristle-bane server with the free trial for now but am going gold later in the week when I have the money. I started doing the quests in gloom-something mines and took a trip to POK because I was aching to see my old familiar zones again. Some good and some bad they did in my opinion but I like that there are many new zones for me to level up in. On the Al'kabor server I leveled five 65's and after a while it got really boring no matter how many different zones I leveled in, here I don't see that happening there are just so many! Anyways I wanted to stop by and say hello because I'm sure I'l be asking a lot of questions. So if you see Fien or Answerhands (my cleric) around feel free to say hi. Bye for now I'm going to log in and looking forward to meeting some new people on the Bristlebane <spelling> server.

Welcome back,

Nice to know that the closing of Al Kabor server did not stop you (and other EQ Mac players) from playing EQ.

Yes, this is the right forum to ask anything about EQ. Smiley: smile

Good luck and enjoy..

that sucks that they didn't offer you folks on there some free character xfers. I think they could have cloned your guys on a new server for you easy.

Should have cloned them for sure, at the very least assigned level 65 characters the same names as they all had on Al'kabor with 500 AA (the coding they used for the Mayong server 51/50 only boosted a bit) onto a live server.

IF it had been up to me... I would have cloned Al'kabor into a standalone PC server directly, unlock LoY and Ldon and leave it locked there for 4 months (then do a vote for unlock now or try again in 4 months). to see what would happen. Oh... and give all former Al'kabor sub accounts 2 months gold membership for free.

Anyways, welcome to the PC side of the game!

I completely agree. I actually rolled a toon on alkabor about 2 months before it shut down. I didn't get very far because I found out it was shutting down. Was some really good people on there though and very loyal fans. A lot of people paid a lot of money to play on that server it wouldn't have hurt SOE to do something for the devoted players on there.
