I really dont like to be so negative, lets get that straight. ive been with EQ since the start. Sure its flawed and like we all know there have been poor
decisions and lots of strife on our journey through Norrath, The staged releases for recent content i actually like and i know it also makes sense for the
dev team as they can spread the development time over the year instead of having to hit a deadline for a whole xpac release come what may.

But Hate rising ! yes it adds some gear we have been waiting for BP caster shields etc, BUT...... purely from a group game player viewpoint its Pathetic.

A few new HA in zones we already played ! seriously Sony that is not an acceptable content release.

If there wasnt the resources avaliable to this venerable old game you should have spent the time making the hills and Bixie warfront proper full zones
with Named spawns dropping the new gear, heck theyre already mapped and created as you use the closed off areas in the missions.

Sure i'll play them to get my guy his new BP either by drop or purchase and i'm done until the next update, which will by my reconing be after or close to the release
of ES online, sad times sorry.

This isnt just a eq sux i quit post really, i love EQ but I'm struggling to think of some genuine reason to log in alot of the time and this xpac release isnt going to
do a great deal to keep me comming back, Very very dissapointed.

I think this is the biggest reason that I became an alt-o-holic... content ( expansions ) would come out that I absolutely hated. Whether it was because it was too difficult for a casual player like me ( I also have been playing since 99, by the way ) or I hated the supposed lore, or it was just poorly designed.

I hated Luclin when it came out, thought it was just silly. No real content for my casters, etc... but now that I have gone back and played it with the Mutants, I have found its pretty fun. LOY expansion was the same, it was too overpowered and the mob placement was poor...the events/raid mobs were over the top, etc... Now I am loving it. Still hate OOW and GOD, by the way...Smiley: oyvey

This is not to down play your feelings about Hate Rising, just the opposite. I totally understand your disappointment ( not that I am doing this content, by any means ) I just think one of the things about EQ that keeps me playing is that there is always content I do love, and I can always just start a new guy ( or guild, " ALL HAIL THE MUTANTS Smiley: sly Smiley: grin Smiley: sly )

Maybe this is your chance to join the mutants, play a bard Smiley: sly, go back and kill all the dragons ( I actually have 2 characters on FV , a Troll warrior( Craawl ) and Ogre shaman (Rhaah )that I 2 boxed this with, well 2 boxed with mercs...they killed all but the dragon's in veeshan's....stupid chromatic healers Smiley: glare )

Anyway, please don't take my thoughts as downplaying your feelings, just offering how I feel/handle disappointing new content....hope to see you around...

I think the devs are in a catch-22 or sorts:

If they keep adding continents or planes or "other worlds through rifts", etc. they further spread out the population. Newer games have intentionally avoided several of things EQ has been mostly unwilling to revisit such as so many lowbie levelling paths and underused under 80 content.

I don't think they can afford to continue making EQ bigger through urban sprawl (as it were) since they've already done too much of that. Intensification is the answer! (Revamp GoD as a level 90-100 path please... add more parts to Najena with the dead-ended halls, give me Chardok C, as examples).

I'd rather have a well done revamp on existing lore anyways. Ratonga rising up in Velious would have been far more interesting to me than Alarans doing anything.

Citraka, why you so surprised all everquest anymore is people boxing, power leveling. The merc idea was terrible you no longer have to show any respect or relay on others to heal you, rez you or give you various buffs. I have been wishing that soe would come out with one or two servers without mercs. I have spoken to several people who agree that if mercs have to exist wish it was half as powerful as they are now and one merc per 5 toon group, that way people might be more inclined to group.

The sad part is eq is 90% to 95% people who power level, box and the rest of us are left high and dry. I like many am on a fixed income and do not have the luxury to buying a $500.00 gaming console and games at $50.00 to $75.00 each. I know there are other games out there but some of the functionally of them lack compared to eq plus the graphics to run them on the machine needed right now is beyond what I can afford buying a new computer and using more than my data plan also which is 6 gigs a month.

Btw hate rising really could not come up with a better name might as well be Hannibal Rising LOL

Actually If you were playing EQ just before the Mercs were put in game, you would know that people were quitting EQ because it was darn near impossible to get a group unless it was your personal friends. EQ was at a low point, I was ready to quit till I got wind Mercs were coming to the game. Same with Defiant gear, like it or not that gear was another game saver for a lot of people. Those two improvements saved EQ, If you still are having a bad time of it in EQ, find another game, and get a job LOL we already have plenty of complainers LOL.....

funny people say they could not get groups. i had groups all the time some good some bad. fas as job goes sometimes a person has a job but the job is not enough like some have it to waste money. everyone has bills and many family to support. a better job at more pay would help but does not always happen.
