With the AAXP bonuses it ain't that hard to grind AAs. I mean in an ideal world I would start on AAXP BEFORE 85 but it isn't the end of the world to be 85/0AA. You just have to pick your spots, maybe fight only LBs if you're a tank, until your defensive AAs build up. Remember just doing the daily instances for your level will pile on AAs at a ridiculously fast pace. I did the two level 90 and one level 85 missions every day for a month for some 95 alts that started with ZERO AA's (I had PL'd them up using the Infilitrating the Guardian anniversary mission, back before they nerfed it) and I got them all to over 3000 AAs in that month. Was taking me less than an hour each morning.

The daily tasks give decent AAXP even for those missions well below your level. Good place to start until you get up to a few hundred AAs.

Good luck!

People used to pay hundreds of dollars for level 50-60 characters on eBay. People now pay in kronos for PL sessions. I'm sure there's a market for this and, while I don't have any interest, I could easily see someone figuring that $35 wasn't a big deal compared to hassling friends/guildies to PL them, grinding up skill points and the rest of it.

And, yeah, I know leveling up was tougher back in the day but then $35 is a lot less than $350. Spending $35 casually is pretty easy and seems reasonable for a character you plan to play for months if not longer.

Good points^

If they aren't selling enough, they'll eventually lower the price. I think $35 lasts a while though.

To some of the other comments: Heroic characters in EQII have significant AA and gear. I will be really surprised if the EQ version has less than 3K AA since the content was tuned for at least that many as the "already done" baseline. I think they leave a bit of the aaxp curve to go though, so you get hooked on easy acquisition.

Not sure if it'll be that high. I doubt many level 85 characters have that many AAs. I would hope that they don't make the insta level 85s that much more powerful than a typical level 85 someone would level themselves. Maybe that's just me thinking in terms of balance and whatnot.

Yeah... I'm being too strong saying "really surprised".

0 AA would be a mistake on their part.
1-500 is them being cheap.
501-1000 is decent
1k-2k is good --they won't work if not set to regular level effectively from the hop.
2k-3k is nice
3k-4k is generous and probably risks what gjaji is talking about above

More than 6k... not happening :)

It's pretty easy to burn up a lot of AA if they are choosing what is bought too... full ranks of Combat agility and stability at level 85 costs how much for example?

Yeah. I was thinking more in the 1-2k range. That's more what you'll typically see a level 85 character having and it's sufficient that they're not gimped in any way. More than that and you're not just giving folks a free level 85 character that they don't have to spend time leveling themselves, but a level 85 character that's more powerful than they would have had if they had spent that time leveling. To me the value of this isn't to give out an "uber" character, but to give folks a sufficient boost to "near" the top end so that they can reach that top content if they want. But they still have to work for it after that point.

I'll also point out that the AA question is tricky to begin with due to vast differences between classes and their need for AA. My paladin is constantly "behind" on AAs I want. There's just too many lines of AAs that are useful and getting them all is ridiculously expensive. On the other end of the spectrum, my wizard basically just focuses on a handful of lines of AAs and everything else is basically gravy. So any number they come up with is going to be less than perfect.
